Dose anyone know of anyone that has gone through an amnio test and has come back with results saying that the baby has a translocation of chromosomes 13 and 15? I am freaking out just becouse i have been down this path once before exactly 5yr's ago with my daughter brianna was born with a chromosome 20 duplication and we new nothing about till her birth it was the worst day of my life my baby underwent alot of surgery's and problems untill the lord decided enough was enough for my lil angel and brought her home to heaven! and know 5yr's later im here again expecting a lil girl with all the joy in my heart and my amnio comes back with this translocation of her chromosomes. Even though we are still undergoing through alot of genetic testing i'am scared and worried i just want my baby to be healthy and complete! they are giving us a 99.4% chance that everything will be ok but as much as my doctor tells us the odd's are in our favor i cant help but worry!
I will say prayers that your baby girl is healthy. The odds are certainly in her favor. I understand how terrifying this is for you. My son died at 17 days old and the docs thought my little girl conceived 1 year later had Downs Syndrome. They were wrong and she is healthy and such a blessing in our lives. Prayers that you stay strong through this ordeal. HUGS
I don't know your specific situation but I can tell you that I have a friend who's ultrasounds and amnio showed that there was something "off". They went to see geneticists and had constant ultrasounds and doctors visits. They were first told the baby would be born with a heart defect and would need surgery, then they were told that his heart would be fine but he had a brain disorder.
Guess what? He was born perfectly healthy and still is three years later! Sometimes a scare is just that, a scare.
After what you have been through with your first daughter, I'm sure you are scared to death for your new daughter. I won't tell you not to worry, that is impossible. But I will tell you that you can do this! You can be this baby girl's mommy no matter what heatbreaks or joys it brings to you! I can tell you will love her just the way she is no matter what - I will be thinking of you and your daughter.
I have never gone through this, so don't know the re-occurrence rate. But you are all in my prayers!
are you having a big ultra sound. my amnio came back irregular. the heart and anemia were the worries. the heart was fine, but, the anemia was a concern, she was fine when she was born.

99.4% is pretty high. i would focus on that. Medical has come so far.
