Ok, I know this is going to sound silly but I have a problem with ants in my master bathroom. They are the tiny ones and they are driving me crazy! We thought they were showing up because they were looking for water but we have had a ton of rain over the last few months so I'm not sure our theory is right. Anyway I need to get this under control...Any ideas would be great!

Buy the Raid-Dual Control ant baits. Set them around the bathroom. Within a few days the ants will dissapear. The take the bait back to the mound. I have used these several times and a couple of times the ants were pretty severe. I keep them on hand just in case.

My exterminator put down an ant trap calle TERRO-PCO. It worked like a miracle. He put the trap down where we were seeing them the most and within 30 minutes there was a stream of ants going from their point of entry to the trap. Within an hour the trail of ants were gone and we have seen none since.

We then were able to move it to our shower and the same thing happened.

It is good stuff!

i heard some where that if you wipe down your counters and along your door frames window ledges and frames and along the base boards with a mix of dawn dish soap and water and leave it without rinsing that it is supposed to keep ants away i tried it once and it seemed to work the only problem is that you have to repeat it every month or so

I use the ant bait traps in my kitchen. Have them everywhere food might be left out. They go for the traps first cuz it's sweet.
Can't imagine why they'd be in your bedroom. Any food or diapers or formula or anything sweet (tooth paste, cough syrup) that might be attracting them? This is really gross but the other thing that attracts them is other insects or rodents (dead ones).
I'd say discover the source and then treat with the traps. I got them at the grocery store. Save (if out of reach) for little ones too.

Good luck

We get those tiny ants in the kitchen every summer. Try Terro. It's an ant bait that works wonders! The sell it by me in the grocery store and Walmart.

I had them in my living room, dining room, kitchen, down the hall and in my bathroom. I took baby powder and sprinkle it heavily all around the walls and across the doorway so they wouldn't go into any other rooms and it seems to have worked. So good luck. i tried everything else.

OK, here I go again!!!
You first have to identify the ant. TERRO does work with sugar ants. But, do you have sugar ants? Generaly, ants in the bathroom are either carpenter ants or fire ants. You can tell by the size and color. Also, ants dont always come inside due to dryness OR rain. They come in for a food source. Look in your yard first...is there evidence of them? Look WHERE they are coming in the bathroom...plug the holes, calk or even vasilene works. Next, spray your yard and around the foundation. If that fails, do yourself a favor, call an exterminator. I learned about ants the hard way!!!

Margaret :)

PS. If you want, you can PM me and tell me exactly where your ants are coming in...I'm pretty sure I can tell you how to get rid of them.

I feel your pain! I had them too very bad in the kitchen and bathrooms. I purchased "RAID Ant Baits" (you can get them in any store), put them out where you see the ants, but where kids and pets can't get to them. Change out every 3 months. I have had no ant problem since then.

Good luck!

We had tiny ants in our kitchen for more than a month and tried everything we knew of to get rid of them, but couldn't find where they were coming in. Then we realized they had made a huge ant bed inside a pot plant in the kitchen window, and they were just coming in and out from there. We removed the ball of dirt from the pot, washed all of the ants out, and repotted the plant. We haven't seen any ants since then (that was several months ago).

A little late to respond, but thought I would let you know to try baby powder, put it on the floor where you see them and follow there trail. It suffocates them and sticks to there feet. leave it for 24 hrs and then vaccum up. Cheap fast fix, buy a bottle at your dollar general for a $1.
hope this helps
