Congratulations! Yes, the more pregnancies you have, the quicker you will show. Your body automatically remembers being pregnant and goes into that mode. I have 4 children and with the 2nd pregnancy on, I was definitely showing quicker. With my first pregnancy, I wore regular clothes until I was 5 months plus pregnant. With the 2nd one, it was sooner at 3 months, with the 4th it was at 2 months. (My 3rd baby was really small, so I stayed small with him.) I wouldn't worry. Be thankful that your body is doing what it is suppose to do. :) Good luck!
Yes, your stomach muscles aren't as strong as they were, so you will tend to show much sooner than with your first. I've got 3 months to go and am as big as I was when I delivered my first, I think. :(
Also, each pregnancy is different. With my second, I was bloated and gassy during the first trimester..much much more than with my first. That can account for some of the tummy as well.
Congratulations!! I'm a mom of 3 boys and in my experience I began to show early with the second and third pregnancy. I didn't start to show with my first son until about 6 1/2 months and I ended up gaining 40lbs. My second son I showed by the 5th month and i gained 38 lbs. with him. My last baby I only gained 17 but started showing at 3 months. All are happy, healthy young men ages 17, 18 and 21. Don't worry, every pregnancy is different, every child is different.
Yeah, the same thing happened to me. I have four. I started showing early with the last 3. No worries. You are fine! :-)
Congratulations!
If you haven't been to the doctor yet, you may be farther along than you think. I've have friends who continued to have periods (light) throughout their first trimester.
You may be further along then you think. My pregnancy test did not show positive until I was 2 1/2 months along. Also, with this being your second pregnancy, your muscles are not what they were with your first. So, you will show more and faster with the second...usually. I would not stress until you see the Dr and he determnes how far along you truly are.
=) M.
Oh yeah I showed much sooner with preg #2
ask if there's more than one baby. you never know sometimes. but i was underweight when i got pregnant, so i looked bigger than i was.
you always show faster with your subsequent pregnancies.
More than 14 years ago with my third pregnancy I also looked bigger than my first and second pregnancy, but soon a sonogram revealed we were expecting fraternal twins.
Don't get excited or scared you just might be more into the pregnancy than you think!
Congratulations!!
You will start showing earlier and earlier with each pregnancy you have.
I have six kids, and it got to the point that come the 5th and 6th pregancy I had to start wearing maternity clothes from about 1 month.
It happens to the best of us.
Much Luck!
This was normal for me 21 years ago! I didn't need maternity clothes until the 6th month with my first. Six years later I'm 2 months along and I'm wearing maternity clothes!! However, I didn't gain any more weight than I did with the first so I'm sure you wont either. I think it's just after you've had a baby you then have a woman's body as opposed to a girls body before.
I've read that with your second pregnancy you start to have a tummy almost right away. Your body now knows what to expect, so you start to show much sooner than your first pregnancy. I'm sure your OB will tell you the same thing next week.
I always "show" early but I am not very big to start with. I have very narrow hips (my mom could never find my waistline when she would sew for for me--LOL) so my babies tend to grow straight OUT--nothing on the sides at all. However,I was showing at 7 weeks with my last pregnancy--IT WAS TWINS!
Hi M.! I have three children. With all three of my children I got so big so early on that each time my doctor thought I might be pregnant with twins. With my first, he actually did a sono early on to make sure there weren't two in there. Maybe you have twins or maybe you're just like me and get big early. It could have to do with the position of your uterus, your height/stature, or if this is your second or third pregnancy, you usually start to show sooner with each one. As with all things when you're pregnant, though, if you're concerned, check with your OBGYN just to rule out any anomalies. Good Luck!
