How many of you at age 30+ to 55+ still send gifts to your siblings and your siblings spouse ? When do we stop? Is it necessary......? We all have our own lifestyle and family and still exchanging. We have the money, but not always does the siblings.... what are your thoughts..... Just don't know how to say..... " hey lets stop, we are adults now and don't need too anymore"

I will add that I do love to give, but I think it makes it hard on them too when they don't want too. and when the birthdays are a month a part it is like we are exchanging money back and forth..... sometimes it does not make sense. They spend $40, I spend $40. I know the thought is what counts....but hmmmmmmm like to get some input.

What can I do next?

We still do it, but we tend to send gift cards inside of super funny Bday cards..

I believe one should always give from their heart. I have
never expect anything in return. And I guess it is good, because my sister hasn't sent me even a card in years, but I do not care.

I love birthdays! It's important to make your loved ones feel special, and I love getting gifts for people! I love getting them, too!hehehe It doesn't have to make sense! Humans are not logical! They're emotional!hehehe. Give if you want to give, not because they want to give.

Er, we don't, but all of us are pretty poor! We do call each other though.

I agree with Laurie. imo, dont do it just because you feel you have to, do it because it is what you want to do. you could also suggest something like a name draw where everyone draws a name and they do the birthday for that person so as not to be overwhelmed. even suggesting this may help to broach the topic of possibly stopping the gift giving to adults.
