I have filters on my computer, so I never see ads. Everyone should have them!!

Agreed! Not only are they annoying just because of the fact that they pop up and make noise, but also because it conveys to me the message that we aren't smart enough to read the thumbnail version of the ad and determine whether it is of interest to us or not, so it they make it intrusive, we'll be better informed and suddenly want the product.

I have had this happen in the past and sent them an email about it and once also followed up with a screenshot of the stupid ad that ate my page.

They annoy me as well!

A couple weeks back they had THE most annoying Disney channel one!

I think my pop-up blocker must be getting most of these, but for the ones it doesn't, there should be somewhere on the ad where you can x-out. Makes the annoyance last just the few seconds it takes to find the x.

Have to agree with some of the others...what ads? I also use Firefox with the Adblock Plus add-on and I never (okay, veeeery rarely) see ads, on this site or on others. For example, on this page I see the Mamasource deal of the day (if you want to consider that an ad) but that's it. Give it a try. :)

This doesn't happen to me.
It might be your browser settings, it might be my Mac.

I use adblock plus... the only one I ever see is the mamasource ad......
