What does your Dr. say?

I am A- and my husband A+. I had to take a special shot Rhogam I think it was when I was pregnant back in 1994. Other than that, I was just monitored.

I never thought of blood type and fertility beyond the RH factor but apparently there is a correlation.

It's a good question for a fertility specialist who can run some tests on both of you and then discuss what issues need to be overcome.

Additional:
The article explains that some women who are O+ have difficulty getting pregnant as they age.

Welcome to mamapedia, A..

Have you talked with your OB/GYN or who ever you might be using as a doctor? That's where I would go for answers like this.

You would need to ask about the RH factor and if a shot is needed prior to conceiving.

Rh incompatibility can be an issue if you were a - and he was a +, but since you're the + there shouldn't be a problem carrying a baby to term, in regards to Rh factors.

Your baby's blood type is most likely to be A+.
