great post b/c I have no idea!!! I need help too!! :-)
what are all these parent abbreviations and what do they mean, i see them on here and in parent magazines. i know one of them is DD or DSD... what does this mean? and i know there are more so tell me those as well ;)
thanks everyone for telling me what they mean. i won't be using them though i think i'd rather come up with my own terms of endearment rather then using a generalized over used prototype :) but thanks anyways

A few people posted the meanings. Personally I hate them.
D - dear or darling (D - daughter, H - husband, S - son)
IL - in law (M - mother; F - father)
JFF - just for fun
TTC - trying to conceive
etc.
Acronyms!
DD = Dear Daughter
DSD = Dear Step Daughter
DS = Dear Son
DH = Dear Husband (although there's another less flattering meaning for this one)
etc.
I love this site for acronyms (it even helps me at work because my office is crazy with them):
I don't understand why anyone would 'hate' terms of endearment....
I think it's nice to show a little love in a quick easy way :) and it's faster than writing out 'my daughter' etc.
I can't stand the abbreviations DS & DD .... I mean really, do you think we all don't think our children are 'dear/darling' to us??!
My favorite though is when someone uses DH (dear/darling husband) and then goes off for 2 paragraphs re: what a jerk/unhelpful/lazy/etc., etc. he has been!!!
