A New Term for Testicles............

It seems like there have been a few posts lately about boys and their genitals. I even advised someone to be sure to use proper tems with sons and try to avoid slang like "balls" and "dick." I do try to do that with my teenage boys, but as I posted before it can be impossible to avoid all slang. So last night one of our (small) dogs stepped on my 13-year-old son's testicles while they were on the bed together. I overheard my son tell the dog, "Ouch, get off my Lucky Charms!" Anyone else heard any new, funny or "interesting" terms from their kids?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So I'm shopping at Sam's Club this morning and prominently displayed in the center of one of the main aislesare large, 2-box packages of Lucky Charms. I LOL. People around me probably think, "What is wrong with this woman." I walk around the corner to look for sunflower seeds for my baseball-playing older son and the first thing I see is a snack item called "Nuts on the Go!"

Gonads, of course! We've used that term too. And it reminds me.........in college I was on a co-ed ultimate frisbee team called the "Nads." The boys/young men on the team selected the name so they could scream, "Go Nads!"

That's pretty good. My friends son used to call them 'right where the squirrels call paradise'. I know it's not proper grammar but funny anyway.

Joeys, coconuts, "friends", jingle bells, deviled eggs (we tend to go "seasonal" with our terms around here...lol!).
Personally, I think its funny when they come up with cute slang terms for their testicles. I'm a RN, so of course they all know the proper terms, and if there is a medical issue, or a frank discussion on sex, puberty, etc., we go with those.
But, my boys are 13, 6, 3 and 6 mos. It's supposed to be FUN! And I couldn't stop it even if I wanted to. Besides, I usually come up with the best ones ;)

thought of you all last night as our cat stepped on my son's testicals and I made some comment about stepping on his "balls" to which my 17 yo sons snorts and says, "mom said balls". Yeah, it apparently never ends...

We like 'bits' at our house. Also 'girl bits' and 'boy bits' to be more specific. Not that we're squeamish about the 'real' words, but a little levity isn't a bad thing.

Cindy:

My boys use that frequently when our dog does that in the car...we laugh...

We use the right anatomical terms - however - we use slang too.

Hope your boys lucky charms are better!

We're all girls in my house (except for DH!) ... our family slang-term for girl parts is somehere between vagina and petunia -- bajoonia.

But often we just go with "petunia." :-)

One of my sons calls the whole area his "no-no parts". I have no idea where he picked that up, and he is almost 13, so it is extra funny.

Oh my gosh...thanks for the laugh!! That is so cute!

When my son was tiny, I always called it his "ding-dong" - I know you're supposed to use the correct terms, (and my son and daughter were both taught the proper terms) but I just don't like that word. I guess because growing up we just never used those words; they were never termed dirty words, my parents were just "old school" and certain things were not discussed.

Now we just call them "The Family Jewels"!! lol!! Don't really have any slang words for the girl parts.

Thanks for the laugh!!

My MIL called my girls "parts" their 'pee-pie'. It stuck. I had a friend once who when helping his daughter get her pjs on said, "cover up the kitty cat!"
I have heard guy 'parts' called : worm, cod, willy, dagger, etc. but my favorite one is "dangle-y parts"

I have friend who's family uses "the Virginia" to refer to the vagina ... Even when going to the GYN. DH refers to his testicles as "the guys".
