One time house cleaning
Home cooked meal- something that won't make her sick
Gift card for a prenatal massage
Come watch the kids while she sleeps
Today is my friend's birthday. She has 9 children, and another one on the way. (please no judgments here) She is having a very difficult time with morning sickness. I have never been pregnant as my boys are adopted. Is there ANYTHING that I could send her or a gift card to a place that has something that might be of some help? Thanks so much in advance.
One time house cleaning
Home cooked meal- something that won't make her sick
Gift card for a prenatal massage
Come watch the kids while she sleeps
a one time house cleaning from a well known service (like merry maids)
a gift card for a take out meal
pay a babysitting team to give her an afternoon off
come watch her kids and send her our for a pedicure
bring a meal
Natural Ginger Candies, or Ginger Ale, or Ginger Cookies
Large home made pitcher of lemonade or strong lemon candies, organic preferably.
Both ginger and lemon products help with nausea.
Vouchers for babysitting, housecleaning, laundry, meals. Organize other friends to provide meals every other day.
She will be so blessed when she's an old lday by having so many kids. I see how blessed my mom is with 5 adult children and 12 grandchildren. Once these sick days and frantic parenting days are only a memory she will live with the blessing of many children & grandchildren in her old age. ;o)
Preggie pops? They help with nausea. Google to buy!
Crystallized ginger might help with the nausea.
A gift certificate to get a massage.
Lemon, gingerale, crackers..will all help. But, thats what friend does! For her BIRTHDAY present I would get her a nice massage or gift certificate for a pedicure. something where she can really relax...because being pregnant and being sick alll the time makes you exhausted. (I know from experience!)
Gift card for a housecleaning service... I would have loved one when pg because I was constantly exhausted.
What about taking the other kids out for an afternoon so she could rest or, more likely, work around the house in peace? When my morning sickness was raging, even sunlight set it off (every morning when I backed out of the garage to go to work, I'd have to have the trashcan right in front of me... my neighbors *loved* me!), so going somewhere wasn't the most fun.
Mint chewing gum helped me the most with morning sickness. She should also get checked to see if she has acid reflux. I had that with my 2nd, and once they figured it out and I got on meds, the morning sickness improved dramatically.
I would concur with the housecleaning gift certificate. Also a gift certificate to a restaurant where she could get a fully cooked meal so she doesn't have to cook herself.
Hope she feels better soon!
