A Good Cover for My Infant Carrier?

We had the JJ Cole heavy cover for when my son was newborn (end of January), then switched to the lightweight one. We loved it, they wash well, and he didn't even need a blanket in over him. We actually didn't use them long because he's a little hotbox and would be soaked through with sweat, even at a couple months old (what we did was cover him for outside, then unzip and flip the top back once the car was warm.) I definately recommend them, and we're getting one for my SIL when their baby is born!

My daughter was born last December and we absolutely LOVED using the cover that goes all the way around the infant carseat. Mine has a zipper that allows for you to easily put baby in and out, and kept her warm and cozy without need for extra clothing (since it's usually warm when you're inside, and when the car warms up.) It's even reversible (Bright pink on one side, light on the other)
Had other advantages as well -- binky never got lost, could stuff her burp rag etc in there and have it handy w/o falling out of the seat etc.

My brother is a manager at Babies R Us, and last winter when my son was in the infant seat, I was going to buy one of the Bundle Me covers. He persuaded me against it, unless I were to be walking a lot with him outside in the cold. I mainly wanted it to go to and from my car to a building. I bought the kind that goes all the way over the carseat, has a big hole with a protective flap where your baby's face is, and has a zipper that opens it halfway.

He advised buying this one because once you get in the car and turn the heat on, there's no easy way to get the baby out of the Bundle Me, and they end up really sweaty. With this cover, you can take it off really easily or just unzip it a little. It was much cheaper too, $19.95 I think. I'm about to give mine to a friend who just had a baby because I loved it so much.

HI C., i agree with the response from jill. i had both a cover that went over the car seat with a hole in the middle and flap and a bundle me, and never used the bundle me b/c it was too much. also when i had our infant car seat inspection the inspector said if you do use the Bundle Me to unzip it and only use the top to cover over the car seat b/c the bottom part can add to much bulk in the car seat and the baby doesnt sit in the seat correctly. if you are into camo at all, we got our cover at Cabela's it is a camo and has elastic to hold the cover over the seat then has a giant hole with a flap over it. it worked great. good luck, i am torn myself for this winter b/c my son is going to be 9 months old is very long so that a cover may cramp him in, so i guess i will look for a winter coat?

My husband and I bought the JJ cole urban bundle me it is awesome. You lay it in your carrier pull the straps through it, put the baby in strap her down and zip it up, it is super easy to use! Babiesrus has them on their website. Lol we just bought the last one they had in stock at the Florence babiesrus this past Thursday. (*its the warmest and has a outside waterproof layer, with the winters in our region it is the best option*) the other JJ cole ones are lighter which would be good for cool fall evenings but not enough snowy winters.

Walmart sells a inexpensive car seat cover that worked very well for me last winter. It was warm enough on those awful January days that my weeks old baby was toasty warm and sweaty! It is reversible and elastic so it slips around the baby's seat easily and holds tightly. There is a little flap to cover baby's face from the elements and zipper runs down the middle (I hope I remember this right!). I don't know if they have them out yet, but I have one if you need it. It is blue, though.

We have a Kiddopotamus cover. The only thing is, it doesn't have a part that cover the baby's head, but as long as our daughter had a hat, she was fine. It slips over the bottom of the carrier.

I used a cover that fit over the whole car seat and it unzipped down both sides to get my son in and out. I am not sure of the brand name but I got it at Walmart for like $10 and it was reversable. I loved it! Good luck.
