we looked for our 4 year old daughter and liked two places:
1) carpe deim - legacy & warren
2) merryhill - tollway & gaylord
Looking for a good preschool, in Frisco area for my 3 year old daughter, any recommendations, I am not keen in putting her in Montessori school as they group children from 3 years to 6 years together.

Parker chase is WONDERFUl, they are in plano but not far from Frisco. They are located at Tennyson and Ohio. I used to bring my son there before I became a stay at home Mom. I have recomended them to several other parents I know and they all use them and love them. They have a very low teacher to child ratio and have very caring staff. I love the place.

A really great school is Childtime in Plano. They are on Hedgcoxe, between Plano and Frisco.
Hi,
My name is R. and I am also new to Frisco(moved here only 5 months back). I have a 3 year old son and he goes to Preston Kiddie Kollege on Legendary drive. I like the school very much, the teachers are very good, the administrator Ms Maria is a very good person and the kids just love her. Do check out their website "www.prestonkiddiekollege.com".

Hi M.,
I wouldn't totally discount the Montessori schools until you find out more about the particular schools in your area. There is a group of Montessori Schools called Montessori Unlimited that we've had a good experience with. My daughter attended their school in Corinth and I have a good friend who worked at the Flower Mound School. In a well-run classroom, the mix of ages is actually a good thing! Your child will be encouraged to learn new things that she might not be exposed to in a classroom of only 3s. The key is child-paced learning. A lot of Montessori-like principles are even beginning to make their way into public elementary schools because they are such a great way for kids to learn.
It's not in Frisco, but Windhaven Academy in Plano is great! We've been very pleased with what my daughter is learning and the director and staff are all very pleasant. We put my daughter there last August when she turned 3 and she loves her teacher, Miss Shelly, so much that she does not want to move on to the 4 year old classroom this Fall. Also, where some schools offer computers as an "elective" for an additional fee, it's part of the tuition there and they have it twice a week. It's located on Communications Pkwy, just off The Tollway & Windhaven.
