If any of you have ever left your sunroof open while it rained for 10 hours and what the outcome was??? Cd player and heated seats are not working. I heard once it all dries out it might work again. I dont know why shes so forgetful!! Geez!!

What can I do next?

LMAO, my dad did that once... with his 4 DAY OLD, brand spanking new Suburban ;)

I believe he had it professionally detailed at an auto garage. The main thing is to dry out the fuse box; she may have to rewire the system; she may have to replace those parts. Take it to the dealership.

Best wishes to HER, that stinks ;)

PS... my genius dad has also completely submerged another Suburban under water. During a hurricane, he thought it was 'JUST a little puddle'... dad and brother had to climb out the sunroof and swim!! That Suburban didn't make it ;)

My friend loaned her older Mercedes to a friend who did that and all the wood peeled off (It's on the dash, doors, between the bucket seats, etc...), the windows no longer work, the dash has nothing working any more, the seats moldered and mildewed and it's just not drive-able anymore. It makes her clog up and wheeze each time she gets in. Her insurance is only for minimum amounts so it won't cover the damage. The friend is on really hard times, they ended up losing their home and everything. They even had to go live in a shelter for a while so it is useless for her to try and get them to pay.

depending on the age of the car, have her call insurance. It could get very expensive, very quick.

Get it dried professionally NOW.

My trunk leaked while we were in the hospital. It took us a week to catch it.

1 week of soaked car = having to get AN ENTIRE NEW INTERIOR. Why? In a word : mold. Steamed it. Bleached it. No dice. All. New. Interior.

My husband appraises auto damage and a leak like that can cause extensive damage up to a total loss depending on the value of the car. With flooding sometimes the damage isn't obvious at first so it's very hard to ascertain. There could be wires that are wet and are slowly corroding. If you think or know that the dashboard got wet, you need to have the car checked immediately because there are sensors that could stop functioning. Air bags would be of great concern.

She needs to call her insurance company ASAP and find out what to do.

Oh brother - I hope she has good insurance. Better tell her to call them.

I bet she never forgets that again.
