I just did this for my little girl. I bought a package of plain crowns that I bought at Michael's and I had craft jewels and markers. I also bought beads and strings so they could make bracelets too.
I'm having a small princess-themed birthday party for my 5 year old and 6 of her little friends next week.
Does anyone have any suggestions for age-appropriate crafts or games?
It's an indoor party.
Thanks so much mamas!

For my daughter's last bday party, I cut out foam sticker stars, bought wands, and lots of ribbon. I also cut out smaller stars to hang from the ribbon, and the girls made and decorated wands. They loved it.
For one of my sons birthday party's I went to the party store and got one of those wall background hanging things (awesome description I know LOL) I then had the kids stand in front of it and take a picture- his was Sesame Street so the wall hanging thing had all the characters of Sesame Street and then I had the kids decorate picture frames. I had already cut out the frames using craft foam, bought stickers, foam stickers, buttons, etc and then asked the parents to help glue them on. I used a polaroid camera but I know not many of those are left so if you can take the pictures, then while they decoratore print them out that would work too. Then we attached the pictures and a magnet strip to the back and they had a fun craft to take home. For the princess theme if you have costumes for dress up, they can always dress up for their picture. Or you could have them create/decorate their own crown and wand. You can cut the crowns out of foam prior to the party, the wands you could also use foam and popscicle sticks then let the girls decorate. Another fun idea, I just did this for the last party, is make your own coloring books. I googled coloring pages for the theme, printed out about 9 different coloring pages, then stapled them together like a coloring book. I then added a sticker sheet to the back and gave each kid a pack of crayons. They were a big hit, even with the adults lol. You could also have the girls write a princess story together. So they can tell you what happens in the story and you write it down on paper, but leave room above the words for the girls to draw the pictures of the story. Once they are done, you can make copies of the book for each girl (if copies aren't an option on the spot you can do if after the party and give them to the girls next time you see them). Hope this help! Take care,

Gingerbread castles. at 5& 6, they can manage to help from start to finish. just make sure that you make 2 or three extra sets, in case someone's wall cracks or crumbles.
Good luck to you and yours,

awe i did this for my dd's 4th
I bought plastic jewlery from the dollar store and wrapped the first item in yellow tissue paper and put a BElle sticker on it, then the next piece of jewlery was added to that and wrapped in blue paper and a cinderella sticker was on it, then on top of that i added another piece of jewlery and wrapped the ( belle in the middle, cinderella around that ) and now jasmine around that. I kept going so there was a layer of paper and a gift for each girl. I put music on and played like hot potatoe--- pass the present, and each girl got to unwrap one layer and keep the jewlery.
we also borrowed a chocolate fountain HUGE HIT
we decorated fun foam wands.
and we played some other games. google it and you'll get a MILLION Ideas
It's not really princess themed but I figure you cam weave it in.

I did this with girls about their age.
I don't know if you have a Michael's near you, but whenever I have any kind of party craft that is where I head. You can usually find the cutest crafts that come in a complete package, that are fun to make and don't even require glue! I have had parties for my younger ones and then had crafts available for older siblings who were going to attend. So that is where I would head first, have fun :)
