4 Year Old Daughter Desperately Needs Friends

My name is C. and I live in Melissa. I have two girls one is 8 and one is 4 years old.
The dilema I have is with friends for my kids. We have only lived here for two months and have not met any one with children my kids age. I live in Hunters Ridge and there are no SAHM around me therefore no children to play with. I have tried the pool with no luck, mostly teenagers there anyway. I thought about the MOMS club, but my little one will be starting pre-k in the fall and I have not heard back from them. Any ideas on meeting SAHP with kids?

What can I do next?

We live in Melissa and I have a 7 yr old daughter and a 4 yr old son. He will go to the Discovery Days at First Melissa in Sept and we go to church on Sundays. The preschool during church has a lot of kids in it and She can find friends her age and also your older child. Check it out. www.firstmelissa.com The service times are 9, 10:15, and 11:30. Hope to see you there!

Hi there! The Allen Early Childhood PTA has all kinds of fun things to do all around the Collin County area. We have field trips that may work for you! Take a look at the website and contact us if you think it would work for you. Good luck!

I know that First Baptist Church Melissa has a good childrens program, and they currently have a mom and me get together on Thursdays, and I believe they have a Mothers of Preschoolers group (MOPS). Email ____@____.com for details on what they offer. You can also check the church website (see July newsletter on right side of page) at www.firstmelissa.com. Hope that helps!

Try doing a search on, "meet up". You can find all kinds of groups in your area or near your area that you might have things in common with and groups that get together with kids and without kids.

My daughters are 4 and 7. I am a teacher, so I am home only in the summer, but if you would like to meet up with us sometime, like at McDonalds, that would be fine. We have a lot of boy frineds, but not many girls, so it would be good for us, too.

My BIL & SIL live in your neighborhood and my neices are 4 & 5. But my SIL doesn't stay home, she has a nanny. But I'm not sure what the nanny does with the kids all day - if she goes to the pool or not. I know they run around and ride bikes and such outside.

I'm in Anna and I'm in a mom's group, but most of the kids are older. There are a few that are 3 & 4. Mine are 2.5 & 10 months. You are welcome to come check us out!

Hi C., I live in Hunters Ridge also. I don't have a 4 year old, but I have a 7 year old step son and a 6 month old daughter. There are a lot of kids in the neighborhood but I think right now it is so hot that no one is going outside! Is she starting the pre k program at McKillop? She will be able to meet a lot of kids through that. I don't stay at home, but if you need anything, let me know!
