Hi,

We are invited to a birthday party for a little girl who is 4. I have no idea what a 4 year old likes. Any gift suggestion would be appreciated!

What can I do next?

The Fancy Nancy books are very popular. If she already has the books, you could get her the Fancy Nancy dress-up clothes from Target. They are so cute and very fun for little girls.

My Little Pony has an ice cream truck that comes with a horse and it's always been a very popular toy at our house.

I think dress up clothes are great for that age! I hear My Little Ponies are making quite a comeback, too.

I have a 5 year old girl and girls LOVE all things girly! She likes barbies (not the LIL BRATZ, they look way too mature), she loves to play dress up with jelewry and play makeup, crafts are another FAVORITE. One of her favrotie gifts for her 5th b-day was a flower pot she painted herself! Princess stuff goes over really well!! And you can get lots of princess stuff at the 99 cent strore (crayons, colored pens, tablets ect.) Stuffed animals..for somereason my daugher prefers stuffed animals over baby dolls, she dresses them up and treats them as if they were the baby dolls! Anything Musical if always good too! Hope this helps!!!

She might like a Fur Real Pet. The best selection is at toys'r'us. They have monkeys and tigers, they make noise and drink from a bottle. The tiger hiccups when he has had too much bottle and you have to pet his back until he burps. They are really cute. Other than that I would say anything with a princess on it or board books that she can do activities in.

You could always try something educational - like a story book that can be read to her, or an early readers book - something simple that she can start to read herself with help.... or a jigsaw puzzle.... those are some non-gender-specific ideas. JM

Look for something that they can be creative with such as Playdoh or paints...something to encourage imagination. Or if you want to go with something a little more practical how about something that helps emphasize numbers and letters.
