How about getting her a day at the spa. I know I would like a day to myself.
Good Frieds are hard to fine.

One of my dearest friends, who is like a sister to me, is turning 30 next month. I really would like to get her something special, but I can't think of anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I just want to thank everyone for the wonderful advice. My friend just turned 30 this month, and i ended up buying her a nice picture frame from 'Things Remembered' and had it engraved to make it more personal. I also got her a gift card for Nordstroms. The spa was a great idea, but there was 6 of us that had the same idea in mind...so we all went out and got pedicures/manicures and of course, we picked up her bill. Her B-Day weekend turned out to be really nice. Thanks again 4 the advice.

My 30th last year was great. I had a small get together and a friend of mine cooked me dinner. I always tried to have a big elaborate plan for B-day and was always disappointed, but it was the simplest things that truly made it the best b-day!
I personally like the willow tree figurines. There's one that says something like sisters by heart. with two women holding a heart together.
look up "willow tree" Hallmark usually carries them.
Reasonable pricing too!
M., my best friend and i of over 20 years, for our 30th we are taking a cruise just me and her, no kids no husbands. its not that expensive...4 days from miami to key west to cancun and back for 385.00you can make installment payments also. just an idea.we figured the "spa" thing is so played out, we want t o enjoy ouselves..
I also agree that a day at the spa together is such a great gift! You can go out to lunch and then spend the afternoon getting pampered.... I got a spa afternoon from my husband for my 30th and it was fantastic.
M.,
This really hits close to home. I, too, am turning 30 on Sunday. Does your friend have any children? If she does I think the tried and true hour massage or facial would fit perfectly. Or, for a smaller budget, a mani and pedi. I have a 6 month old and things like that just aren't in the budget anymore. They are dearly missed.
You could also arrange for a sitter if she has children and take her to lunch and a movie. If she has trouble in the kitchen like I do take her to one of those dinner prep places like Super Suppers or Dinner Time and spend an hour preparing meals together.
Any of these would be great for a mom that is turning 30, but I'm sure if you just get her something you really like she will like it too.
Does she like massages and/or facials. There is a great school in Newport News that I frequent regularly. The prices are great because you can pick diffrent level of student at diffrent rates. I take my mom here for a couples massage everytime she comes into VA and she loves it especially because we get to share the room while we are getting our facials and massage. The always have monthly special also...the number is ###-###-####.
think about what you would love to have .....gift certificate to her hair salon, certificate to one of those "super Suppers" places that make your meals for you....you just go and pick them up and freeze them. A certificate to babysitt for 3 separate occassions for her. A maid to do a thorough spring cleaning at her home.
sorry this is so messy...it's 2 am and I'm finally checking email for the day!

How about an Italian charm bracelet with a few special charms.
There is a web store called MyDavinci.com and I recently got a picture of my husbands grandfather (deceased, when he was younger and in the military, pencil drawn. It turned out really well. They also do oil paintings, colored pencil drawings, and other stuff from photos. It is really nice. Without getting it matted and framed it only cost about 40-50 dollars. With a nice matte and frame it was only about $110. You should check it out. I don't know if your friend has any children that you could get a photo of or a nice candid picture from a wedding, but it really turns out nice. They scan the artwork and send it to you to approve before shipping. If there are any changes you want to make, you just tell them and they will make them and then send you another scanned copy to approve. I had them make a couple of changes and it took about 2 weeks. Anyway, hope this helps.
Hi, M.,
This may or may not be out of your financial reach...or maybe you could save up for this. The cost was $76 for the two of us. Just a few moments ago, my friend treated herself and me, to a manicure/pedicure! (foot-soak, massaging chairs, parafin treatment and more) Because we went together, it was a double treat - the pampering, PLUS time to be with her! I hope to pass this gift on to my sisters and other friends, as I can afford it! If that's too much to spend, you could just give HER the treatment!! LOL! $38. (prices are from the Hampstead area of NC)

How about a day for the two of you at a spa for some relaxing time just to relax and unwind. I think it would be nice to have a friend to do this with also it could make great memories for you both to look back on in the future.
Do you have a few pictures of the two of you throughout the years? If you do, I have a good idea for you. I made a small movie for my husband last Father's Day. I would be glad to email it to you to see if this would be something you'd be interested in doing. It was really easy and it's very personal and a great gift that will always be remembered.

If you haven't found anything yet I make custom jewelry. My website is www.jenlucasdesigns.com If there is something that you see that you would like in a different color (your friend's birth stone or color of) let me know and we can definately work something out.

Hi M.,
I know this is self promotion, but I make handcrafted jewelry. If you are interested check out my shop at www.designbylarastudios.etsy.com or my website at www.designbylara.com. I have an infinity ring that I think would be perfect for a long standing friendship.

Hey M.,
Go to the web site: PajamaGram.com. They have wonderful PJ's that would last your friend for years to come. Very high quality. They all come in a pretty hat box with a sachet. Instead of flowers for my mom's Mother's Day gift this year I got her a pajama gram. Hope this helps, D.
