1St Birthday Party Ideas in the Ferndale/Royal Oak/Troy Vicinity

My daughter will be turning 1 next month, and I am looking for a good place to hold a birthday party. There will be approximately 15 guests, but only three children (6 year old, 4 year old, 1 year old) will be attending. Chuck E Cheese is out since I cannot get a reservation without getting a party package (and my 12 adults are not going to want only 2 slices of pizza with 16 tokens). I was looking for someplace that would have some fun activities for the kids, but that will not make me buy a package (and rather order off of a menu, or even order whole pizzas if it ends up being at a pizza place). Our home is not large enough to accomodate a party (especially in the winter) and I need to go somewhere that does have room to seat and feed adults. If somebody could give me a suggestion, I would really appreciate it.

What can I do next?

The rainforest cafe is great. They let my sister select items from the main menu and the guests could order those. I believe they provide a cake as well if you do the party through them. then you could go across the mall and let the kiddos play at Jeepers - they have rides and all kinds of games.

Hi B., I have a daughter who will be turning two in a couple of months. My suggestion is that since she is only one, why not throw a family party and maybe rent a character that she seems to like( eg. Elmo or Barney????) Also maybe you could incorporate a theme into the party like a princess party or something. Anyways, you would be saving a lot of money because these pizza party places always get you in the end because there is never enough food and you always end up ordering more. Trust me, I know. Her second B-day will be much more memorable anyway. I hope she has a great party and try not to get stressed out about it.^_^

What about Dave and Buster's? Kids and adults can have fun there? Good luck!

Do you have a Gymboree in your area? They have great parties, let you bring your own food and I think you would only pay per child.
