I switched the potty seat to the regular one hoping she will do fine. Still the same. She sit on it but when she is getting #1 r #2 she gets down. I really dono what to do. Its been like 1 1/2 months. I'm tired of it. Please help me out.

What can I do next?

I don't think she is ready for potty training. I tried with my son at about the same time, he wouldnt go after a week i stopped. I tried again, when he was 2 1/2, and he was trained in literally 2 days. No night accidents, or no in between accidents.
I suggest waiting a bit longer til she is ready.

She's not ready... My daughter trained early (22 months), but she told us she needed to go and would not sit on the potty unless she said she needed to. She also woke up dry from naps and could pull down her own pants. If she went in her diaper, she immediately took it off. Put her in diapers (or pull-ups), and be patient. She'll let you know when she's ready.

On another note, don't feel like you have to wait until she's dry through the night. My daughter has been daytime / naptime trained for a little over a year now. We are no where near ready for night time. We're lucky to get 1-2 dry nights a week. That can take much, much longer.

I think ses a little young. Most kids are not ready until they are 2 or 3. MY daughter was not fully potty trained until she was 31/2. It's good that she like to sit on the potty but she probably has not even developed the ability to sense when she is ready to potty yet. This is a really great article.

I think the expectation of having your kids fully potty trained by the time they are 2 is really old school and unrealistic.

not ready. leave it in the living room. took our boy from 2-3 to figure it out. he would use it at 2 and then stopped... one day he just used it on his own and off and on for several months. i think it's 3 for girls 4 for boys.

The more you push her the more she will resist you. She is not ready. There will be signs that you need to look for so that you can start preparing her for using the potty seat like if she hides to poop or she tells you that she went in her diaper. But I suggest you dont show any anger or frustration towards her otherwise she will probably take longer or she will have frequent accidents. It's like trying to teach a 10 year old how to drive, they just dont have the maturity level yet. My 1st dghtr was 2 my second dghtr was 3, my son was 4 & I have one more to go. But I never pushed any of them I let them tell me when they are ready & they have never had any accidents.

She is probably not ready yet. Take a break and maybe start again in the summer. I always found the summer an easier time to train. Around the house I would put my girls in a sundress without underwear and they were trained in about 2 days. They were 3 though.

She isn't ready, most kids train closer to 2-3 years old. Keep her in diapers until she is ready. At this age, you are the one who is trained, not her. A potty trained child is one that tells you she has to go, goes to the potty, gets on it, pees/poops, and then may need help wiping. Can also get their own pants on and off. If your daughter isn't able to do all this at 19 months, she isn't trained. I am not trying to be harsh, but what is the rush of forcing it? Also she should be dry through the night and after naps. When your daughter is older (usually around 2.5) the training will only take a good week using underwear. The fact that you have been doing this for over a month and she is not completely done says that it isn't time. "Training" isn't a process that takes months when the child is ready.

have you tried bringing her in there when you use the washroom??? Perhaps she doesn't quite understand what the potty is for and that is why she is getting down when she has to go.

I answered on your other thread. It will take 10 months of sitting her, gradually she will get to going in the potty, then she will start being dry in between you sitting her and after about 10 mos she will be trained and ready for undies. If you started the 10 mos at 18 mos, she'll be done shortly after 2, so don't give up, but don't expect her to be dry TODAY. If you give up and don't restart till she is 2, she'll be almost 3 before she is done.

Take a break from it - it sounds like she isn't ready. Potty training is best done on her terms and not yours. For best results, you need to be patient and follow her lead.

Continue to offer the potty. When she is ready, she'll let you know.
