Is it normal to have a 10 month old with no teeth? I keep wondering when they are going to start coming in. When did your child's teeth come in?

What can I do next?

Don't worry. My Daughter didn't get her first tooth until her 1st birthday and my son didn't get his first tooth until 15 mos...they both have very strong teeth. The longer it takes for them to come in the better off they are. My kids are 14 & 11 now and their teeth are perfectly fine. They will be late in losing their baby teeth as well just to warn you. I was the same way as a child. They didn't lose their first tooth until 1st and 2nd grades. I lost my first in first grade and my last in 9th grade. Just to give you an idea.

My second daughter didn't get her 1st tooth until a couple days before her 1st birthday. She really wanted solid foods but could not chew them up. She is 5 now and everything is fine with her teeth.

My daughter got her first tooth the month of her first birthday. I was older than one. My niece was closer to TWO. While it is certainly later than average, it isn't a need for concern. Pediatrician and dentist agreed that they wouldn't even investigate further unless my niece made it to two without teeth.

You should think of this as a good thing...both my pediatrician and dentist love to see teeth come in later...later teeth are believed to be stronger and healthier teeth (in general). I am 34 and have NEVER had a cavity. My younger brother, same dental/brushing/nutrition, had a mouthful at 6 years old and continues to have problem in adulthood.

Some advice though, if you haven't already, introduce the toothbrush sooner rather than later...with just water now. Use fluoride-free training toothpaste when the little chompers appear. Our dentist said that the NIGHT brushing is the most important one...send them to bed with clean teeth and avoid most cavity problems.

13 months for my daughter, almost a year for my grandson. Both have strong, wonderful teeth.

My oldest cut 5 teeth the week of her first birthday. My baby is not quite 10 mos and she has two already.
Teeth are one of those things that are very individualistic. There's no "right" time for a kid to cut their first tooth. Nothing you can do is going to make those suckers pop out any faster. They come when they come.

My son was born at the end of Sep '08 and didn't get any teeth until Nov of '09. My husband and father were both late teethers. As for me, no one bothered to record that milestone so we'll never know. ;)

My oldest daughter didn't get her first tooth until she was 18 months old. She has them all now. The dentist said they had never seen a child not get teeth. It just happens in their own time. My youngest daughter was only 6 months when she got her first two teeth. Who would have thought. They will come in so don't worry too much.

Yes, they will eventually come in; I've never seen a 2 year old with no teeth, LOL. So don't stress about it; the teeth will actually be healthier because they haven't been exposed to formula/sugar in the milk.

My son got his first tooth a few days after he turned 10 months. If you're truly concerned about it, talk to his pediatrician. Otherwise, let nature takes it's course :)

they say the longer it takes them to come in the better my DD was 18 months old - she is now 13 and still losing baby teeth.

My daughter's did not come in till a few weeks after she turned 12 months old. Not only that, her two FRONT teeth were the first to pop in, not the usual two bottom teeth like most kids.
We were really worried too, but my dentist and her pediatrician were not concerned and teething takes place at different times for each child. Don't worry they will come. The older the child is, the better anyway, since teething is NOT fun for the child or you!

I have a nine and a half month old who has been teething forever and not cut a single tooth yet. My daughter was really late with the teeth too though, but I can't remember exactly since it was 17.5 years ago, lol. I know she was older than 9 months because I have a picture of her with no teeth still, so she was walking before she ever cut one.
Relax, I know it's hard not to worry but maybe yours just has tough gums like mine....

My older boy did not cut any teeth until well past 11 months (he cut two and I had to wean him when he started chomping hard). I think my second boy cut his first around 10 months or so. Again, glorious for my poor breasts!! :D Nothing unusual about it--count your blessings! :)

At 14 months my daughter only had 4 teeth and began getting them 2 at 8 mo and 2 at 12 mo. At 16 months she started popping teeth left and right. She's 20 mo and has 12 and more getting ready to come out.
