We have an adopted child and he did this. Years later we found out he had a sensory disorder. He also did damage to his brain from this. At this age their head is especially tender. This was just our experience. Best of luck.
my 10 month old boy is hitting his head against everything and anything and then looks at us and laughs and then does it again. he has been doing it for more than a month now and as he is getting older he is getting stronger and starting to hit his head harder. should i be worried or just ignore it? ive read that babies kids do this to throw tantrums but this is not the case and it is not rythmmatic.

I'd talk to the pediatrician about it.
Maybe he should be wearing some sort of a helmet so his head is better protected.
There might be something else going on. Have you checked with his pediatrician? It could be his ears or teeth. If doctor has ruled out any medical problems I would deff. ignore it, don't even acknowledge he's doing AT ALL!! Good Luck to you!
I agree with the poster who recommends a helmet. That way you can ignore the behavior without him injuring himself.
I also think that you might want to remember what Elaine describes. It's good that she has detailed this for you, just in case.
Mine did this - annoying as all get out. I just ignored him and walked away.
But I think a helmet is a good idea. Put it on and then ignore him. He's getting a reaction from you but by the time he figures out that it's getting him nowhere, there could be some injury.
He's too little to get the helmet off so why not?
