In Brighton there is Imagination Station. It is a good size wood "jungle gym" layout. Swings, slides and the like. It is in downtown Brighton. When my kids were younger they loved it there.

Hope you enjoy Imagination Station

The mill pond in brighton is fun and big enough your son won't get bored. but it gets very crowded sometimes, go early in the morning before 11 and it is empty.

Lyons Township Park on Grand River, west of Milford Rd. is not too bad. Gill Elementary School in Farmington, MI has a nice playground for a school. On Gill Rd. between 8 and 9 Mile Roads. There is also a park in Plymouth Twp. on Ann Arbor Trail, east of Beck Rd.

In Northville, there is a park right next to Mill Race Village.(It may be called Mill Race Park?) that has a wonderful play structure kids really enjoy.

And in Novi, there is Lakeshore Park with a small beach area right on Walled Lake. There are hiking trails and picnic areas there as well.

In Commerce- Richardson Center is off of Commerce Rd/Oakley Park.
There is also Dodge Park at S. Commerce & Commerce.

In Wixom- Gilbert Willis Park- Off Loon Lake- which is between Wixom and Beck Rds, borders Glengary Rd.
There is also Gunnar Mettala in Wixom off Maple, between Wixom & Beck Road as well.

In Walled Lake- Hiram Sims is nice (Off Pontiac Trail, between Commerce & Decker I think- near a church) because it has an open loop to walk & there is a pond where you can watch ducks & turtles.
There is another one off Pontiac Trail a block down from Maple Rd- behind the old Farmer Jack near the Salvation Army in Walled Lake that I don't know the name of. I haven't been there for a while, but it's nearby, too!

Have fun!

Hello N. - I'm not sure if this park is too far from you but there's a wonderful park in Birmingham. I think it's called Booth Park. It has a fort play structure. My 6-year-old loves it and we can spend a long time there without him getting bored. It's on Old Woodward street. Have fun. - Alison

Hey, come on over to Brighton! Right in the heart of downtown Brighton, we have the Mill Pond, which sits right next to a great playground called The Imagination Station! Also, right next to Mill Pond is a fun store called Oh My Lolli! which is all about lollipops! Have fun!
