Does anyone know of a public beach, pool in the area? I am looking for somewhere to take my 17 month old to cool down on hot days. Thanks for any suggestions.

What can I do next?

One of my favorite places to take my kids when they were small was Island Lake State Park and specifically to Spring Mill Pond within it. The water is clean and you can build sandcastles on the beach and catch minnows etc. With a young child having gradient access to the water is a blessing. With a pool, when they jump in they are immediately over their heads!! Island Lake is just south of Kensington Metropark. Take the second Kensington exit #151 and go south back over I96 and past Grand River. The entrance to the park is down about 500 yards on the left.
Enjoy.

At the W. Bloomfield Aquatic Center they have a pool (Farmington rd, just north of Maple) I know it's public for W. Bloomfield residents, and I think it's public for everyone else, they just pay more. Call the W. Bloomfield Aquatic Center.
There is a beach on Cass Elizabeth Rd, Dodge Park (I think it's Dodge # 4). Cass Lake Rd is closed so you would hav eto take the back rd's. If you need more info contact me and let me know what main roads you are near and I could give you the easiest way to get there. I live in WB and it's less than 10 minutes from me.

My daughter *loves* the sprayscape ["Sprinkler Park"] in Plymouth! It's free, so it can get crowded on the weekends. I suggest good water shoes for your little one =)

Walled Lake has a tiny little beach great for little ones to play on the edge of the water. There is a charge for parking. West Bloomfield has a pool off Farmington between Maple and Walnut Lake Rd.

Kensington Metro Park has beaches and tons of other things you could do with Sawyer. They have a petting farm, bike trails and a few beaches.

You can either buy a yearly pass for $20 or it's $4 each time you go.

Feel free to contact me anytime - (I live right on the border of Southfield & Farmington Hills) ____@____.com!

Island Lake State Park has a beach area which you can go to the entire summer for just the price of the state park sticker. Also, there is a swim club you could join that is in Novi, but close to the Novi/Farmington Hills border called, Piemontese.

Good luck!
