Is This Site Going to Speed up at Some Point?

Yep, you're right, S.. It's not just you. This site has been slow and glitchy since the change-over. I use it only on a desktop computer so I wonder if changing the site to be more "mobile-device-friendly" is the issue, and those of us who aren't using it on mobile devices are just going to have to deal with it being this way because what works on mobile devices isn't necessarily good for other devices--? I don't know; I only know that it's so slow I increasingly give up and don't bother. ....I've also noticed double postings for some posts in recent days and wonder why the MP system can't just prevent that in the first place. Not a big deal, but still, doesn't look good. I ask along with you: Is there relief in sight?
(P.S., S., didn't you once refer to this site as loading "like cold molasses"? I think that was you....That was most excellent.)

oh good thought it was just me. I find it annoying too. Let's hope they can speed things up :)

The problem I have on this site (and no others) is that I feel like I'm typing with heavy gloves on. I can type pretty well, and I'll type a sentence while looking at something on the news on tv. After typing twelve or fifteen words, I glance down at the site and only two words have actually appeared. Then after a few seconds, more of what I typed appears, in spits and spurts.

I'm with you on this. I've had all sorts of problems ever since they changed the format too accommodate phone users. They seem to have forgotten use compute based users. I'm about ready to give up, really I am.

I would guess no, lol. I have always had issues with this site running slow, although it has seemed worse since the face lift.

It's been working fine for me. But, I use an ad-blocking browser, so if it's the ads that are slowing things down, I wouldn't see that.

First thanks for posting, it's important to get this information, these problems from the community as sometimes you all find stuff before we do :).

On to the question - yes the site is running slow right now and we are working on it and hope to have the issue resolved shortly.

Generally speaking we are working continually on upgrades to the system that will make the experience much better - there are just many items to work through with a site this big but we are getting there.

We had a bunch of sun flares and stuff a week or so ago and our internet has been slow since then but this page isn't working any differently than any of my others.
