Housewarming Gift?

I have not been to a house warming party since I was young and went with my parents. We have friends that just bought a house and have everything. They are married and have a 6 year old little boy. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for all the responses! We ended up getting them a gift card so they could go get them whatever they needed or wanted.

What about a family gift. Williams-Sonoma has some cute cookie cutters for kids that are between $15-20. You can attatch a suger cookie recipe (or any other recipe)printed on nice card stock, with a ribbon. As a mom of 2 1/2 I would LOVE to get something like that I could share with my children.

If you get to go to the house before the party, it's a great way to figure out what hasn't already been bought (and there will always be "something").

One idea would be to buy a small wicker-type or cloth basket that can hold a few washcloths and hand towels, and set in some soaps and lotions for the guest bath. If there isn't enough counter space for the basket to set on, it can still be the "holding place" for the towel set and stored on the floor under the sink, or in the cabinet. (This is where the getting to see the house first works ~ you'll get to see what colors the bathroom is, so you can coordinate!)

Have fun shopping!

I've have a standard that's always appreciated - address labels for the new place! AND they think of your thoughtfulness every time they use one in the future : )

And I can tell you where to go to get them, too! www.VistaPrint.com. That company almost always offers them for free - yes, FREE. All you pay is the shipping and handeling and that isn't a fortune. They send me emails multiple times a month with 8 to 12 free items - shipping would be less than the costs of one of the free items! You can email me if you'd like me to forward the newest 12 free "Biggest Sale Ever" email they've sent me.

A bottle of wine used to be the standard for the people who have everything, or if they do not do wine, take them gourmet cheeses or meats.

Wines & gift cards are great - we also had a friend who just purchased a home and I bought them a cute door mat that had cowboy boots on it in honor of them buying land. If they are into gardening, I have also bought a basket and put garden tools and gloves with a few plants as well along with a gift card.

How about buying them a private, in-home wine tasting? Or, a personalized bottle of wine? I can do these and more. We also have great gift baskets and boxes with wine, stemware, and other "wine country" items. They are either shipped to you or to the couple directly. If you'd like to buy a private tasting and give that to them, we can do that as well!

Check out my website to see some of the personalized wine ideas and gift baskets and to learn more about the in-home tastings. You can also just buy a case of wine if you like.

Call or email me if you have any questions or want help ordering!

Cheers!
