Hey. I am looking for a new OB/GYN. My insurance is through Cox. I was not impressed with my last doctor when she deliviered my son. Now I tried to schedule an appointment for my yearly and she is scheduling a year out so I couldn't get an appointment until August '09. I plan to have more children and I was wanting to switch doctors before then anyway. I figured now would be the time. I live in Nixa but I think all of the OB/GYNs are in Springfield. So...any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!!!

What can I do next?

I see Dr. Powell at Physicians for Women. I am not crazy about her, but I really like Dr. Franklin who is in her office. She saw me in the hospital when I had my son (Dr. Powell was on vacation when I delivered). My cousin sees Dr. Franklin and loves her! Others have mentioned Dr. Stamps and I have heard great things about him. One of my friends is pregnant and is a patient of his and thinks he is wonderful.

Hi. I work at Cox South hospital in surgery and I know a lot of the OB/GYN doctors on a surgery level. I personally like Dr Rasque and Dr Hamilton. If you have any questions about specific doctors I can tell you what I know about them on another level: outside the office.

I just moved here to spr. from oklahoma,so i just recently found an ob doc. He is in spr.if your intrested. Magill is his name and he is at the womens healthcare on primrose. So far he seems to know what he is doing.lol.Lets hope!!! The only thing i would have to complain about is the waiting time. Im sure they are all like that to a point. I have never delivered with him, like i said i just moved here. But you can check him out if you want!!!!!Good luck, besides that just open up the phone book cause i dont know anyone else than him..

I absolutely LOVE DR. Stamps. He is an aggressive type dr if something is wrong. He won't stop until he figures out the problem. I was with McCall for 5 years and thought I was unable to have children. All signs pointed toward endometriosis, but she wouldn't test for it. She just called it infertility and we left it at that. I got the nerve to switch drs. and Stamps found the problem (endo, naturally) and I was pregnant within 2 months. He is also the type of dr, that will pray with you if you want. Wonderful bedside manner. I feel like he could be my dad due to the style of care. So genuine. He is in the Turner Ctr, so it would be on the Nixa side of Spfd.

Have you tried Physicians for Women? I've seen Dr. Hamilton for gyn. purposes. My friend Melissa has seen Dr. Richmond for the last 3 of her 4 kids.
