Traveling to Barcelona may 2012, two weeks family vacation ( family of four, 4 years old and 12m) I already have a draft of a basic ininetary of activities and sight seeing. any hotel recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Hotel Arts is our 1st choice so far. Thank you.
We've always rented a house/apartment when travelling internationally. It's just so much easier to have a kitchen and more than one room (and a balcony in many cases!). Plus, then you get to stop in the corner grocery and pick up local delicacies to try rather than having to eat every meal in a restaurant.
We used VRBO.com to find our place. Much less expensive and the place was more like an apartment than a hotel room, which was great with a small child.
I would look at the pensions, they are usually more cost effective and family friendly. Breakfast is included and in some cases evening drinks and snacks.
