I am seeking either a co-op preschool or an in home daycare/ preschool in the Rocklin/Roseville area. I can't afford a whole lot and I really don't need this for daycare reasons. I tried seeing if we qualify for county programs but we just barely make too much money. I want my 3 yr old daughter to be exposed to a preschool setting a couple days a week for maybe 4 hours a day. Curently I do homeschool her (somewhat) and we do belong to another mommy group but I really feel she needs more structure. Plus I could really use some ideas for activites. I am also willing to volunteer weekly/daily to help off set any expenses. I am available every weekday morning until 1 pm and all day Tuesday. I can provide my fingerprints and have a background check if you allow me to volunteer or become a class helper. I was a nanny many years ago for a foster home and then privately for a special needs little boy. Also I was social worker and grant writer for several years for a non-profit agency. I have expirence dealing with special needs, abused and foster children.

What can I do next?

I know you said Rocklin/Roseville area, but we live in Rocklin and both my children attend Loomis Community Preschool, a co-op preschool that's not very far away. There is a Tuesday/Friday class that's from 8:30-11:15. I typically work in the classroom every other week. Tuition is very reasonable. We just had a few people register, so if interested, call and see if there are any openings. You can find out more info about the school, including the contact info, at www.loomispreschool.com. Good luck!

Look at Roseville Parent Education Preschool http://rpeproseville.tripod.com

If your daughter was 3 by 12/01/07, then she could attend the 3-days/week class (if she was 3 after that, then she would go to a 1-day/week class). As a co-op, you would help the credentialed teacher once a week, but the other two days you could just drop her off if you were comfortable with that :) The tuition is only $62/month for the 3-days/week class ($42 for the 1-day), and scholarships are available for members in good standing.

Hope that helps!

There are different places you can go for resources. Try your parks and rec, many offer preschool programs at minimal cost. You can also call your school or others close to you and ask if they have any parent participation preschools in the area. THe one I have my daughter in is throught Adult education, I am actually enrolled as the student. I participate once a week and attend 2 nightly meetings a month, they should have something similar in your area! I feel your frustration. When my son was in preschool I was working, literally working to pay for him to go to preschool, because on paper we looked good, but in reality we were barely making it like most people! I was so frusterated when they kept telling me my son didn;t "qualify" for free preschool, I thought all kids got to go to preschool, I aksed the lady if I should not work, divorce my husband and then reapply!

Hi C.;

You may want to check into Adventure Church. It sounds like they have a program similar to what you need. I haven't had my kids in there myself, but have heard that they have half day programs in which parents volunteer in order to keep the costs down. Good luck!!

My sister-in-law sends my niece to Bev Bos's preschool in the Roseville area and she loves it! My mother-in-law helps out there and there is only one or two things she really disagrees with. If you knew my mother-in-law, you would be surprised it is only a few.:) They let kids be kids.

Try Roseville Parent Education Preschool. They are a co-op and have the lowest price in town by far. ###-###-####

Hi, Well I'm actually in Antelope. My son is in a great inclusion, coop preschool. It is really reasonable, and is structured. If you volunteer 2 days a week it doesn't cost anything. You can also volunteer 1 day a week and pay a small fee. It is Monday through Thursday, with every other Friday a field trip. My son is currently in the afternoon class from noon to three P.M. It is called Center Inclusion Coop Preschool.
