My baby loves to Skype!

Do your parents or relatives live far away and they want to see your baby live in action? Our parents live very far away, and as grandparents they don’t want to miss a moment seeing their grandchild. We use the software tool called Skype. If you have a webcam and internet connection, you can talk and see your family and friends over the internet for FREE. Yes I said free.

I can see family that lives 3000 miles away over the internet and talk to them for free over the web using the Skype tool. I can hear my family very well and see them even though they are over 3000 miles away (in another country like Canada!).

Skype is very easy to use. My mother was a true test to that, as she never used a computer before and with a few clicks, I could talk with her and see her online, and she could talk and see her granddaughter.

You can also use Skype to call your family and friends to their home phone, but they charge for that service if you call international. You can also use Skype on your iPhone. If you use your iPhone it is free to use the Skype service as long as you are in a WiFi zone and both parties are using Skype on their iPhone. They do charge for long distance, but the fee is very low. My 6 month old talks (well she coos) to the computer when ever her grandparents are online with Skype talking to her, its the cutest! I highly recommend using Skype so that your loved ones can watch your little angel grow up.

I have been meaning to try this. We are stationed overseas with our first baby, he is four months old. He has yet to meet his grandparents. My poor family is going crazy with not being able to see him. That's great news about it being simple, my mother is also not very computer savvy. I have heard that it is best to have the same webcam as your other party for best results, do you do this? I would like to send a webcam to my parents.

My son LOVES Skype. He reached a point that he even recognizes the window. He looks at the computer and calls for Grandma (they live overseas). It is certainly a great way to communicate with friends and family. My in-laws see him at least twice a day. They are in touch with us and my son's development. This way we don't seem to be so distant, it would also be great for us when we travel and visit.

My husband works a lot of nights, we use Skype so he can say goodnight to our daughter

Skype is the greatest thing!! My husband is a firefighter and works a lot of overtime shifts, he is often at work for up to 72 hours straight. He misses our daughter like crazy and skype helps him feel like he's not missing as much. Sometimes I will set the laptop on the entertainment center so he can see the whole living room, and he can watch her play while we talk...

Our son loves to Skype. Our families are in Europe. My parents even bought a computer only for Skype, and I think it's still the only application they know how to open and use!
Even my husband grand-mother Skypes with us weekly.

We've been using Skype for a year now. First it was for when my hubby worked in DC and we still lived in Charlotte. We only saw him every other weekend, so we Skyped every night. Now we use it to see and talk to my parents. We're trying to get hubby's parents and sister on board, because our son loves it. He calls for his MiMi and points to the computer almost daily. People don't realize how easy it is to set up and use. Once we got it, we never looked back...
