The message boards at Mamapedia are kind of like the biggest kitchen table chat ever. They’re a comfortable place where women come as they are to talk about whatever is on their minds. No need to get dressed up, no need to worry about what others think of you. Just pull up a chair and say what’s on your mind.
And at Mamapedia we’re engaged in the talk too. We may not always chime in on the conversation. Sometimes we just play host. You know, put on a fresh pot of coffee and make sure everyone’s feeling at home. Other times we actively dive in, often when we hear something that’s resonating throughout the community.
We’ve heard sleep-deprived moms ask about the five “words” babies use when they cry, trying to remember what they’d seen on Oprah. We’ve seen moms swap kid-friendly recipes from Jessica Seinfeld’s cookbook. And conversations have sprouted up about everything from the merits of Chinese wuyi tea, to vaccinating your children, to paying good deeds forward—-all discussions that spun off of Oprah’s show.
And there’s nothing more rewarding for us than being able to connect you with the resources that address your concerns. This month, we’ve been given the opportunity to partner with the Oprah Winfrey Network to spread the word about a potentially life-changing class she’s teaching, called Oprah’s Lifeclass.
Starting October 10, Oprah will be televising a special kind of class where she shares all the lessons, stories, and aha moments that she’s collected over the past 25 years. Her goal and ours here at Mamapedia couldn’t be more aligned: To make your life happier, bigger, more fulfilling. There’s also an online component to the class, where you can take a deeper dive into the life lessons.
And it’s totally free. If you reserve a spot in the class now, you’ll also be entered into a chance to win tickets for you and a friend to go attend the O YOU! show in Atlanta on October 15—and to meet Oprah! Experts from O Magazine—and Oprah herself—will be on hand for a day of learning, inspiration, and laughter. And as if that wasn’t enough, the prize includes airfare, hotel, and meals.
So good luck to you. If you do take part in the class, we hope there are many worthwhile nuggets that you take away.
Until then, we’ll see you around the Mamapedia kitchen table. We’re dying to hear all about what you learn.
