Valentine's Day presents for your kids?

Yes, I always gave my kids a little gift for Valentines Day. When they were tiny tots like your kids, usually a candy item and a little stuffed animal or a Valentines Day book. As they got older, the gifts change. They are 18 and 14 now. The 18 year old is getting a dozen Fairy Tale Brownies shipped to the dorm, and my 14 is getting a small DD gift card and a box of hot cocoa K cups.

Special cards and a candy each !

No high-priced toys or gadgets.

Every year I make a candy trail down the stairs with Hershey kisses that leads to big heart at the bottom (also made out of kisses or pb cups), then there are a couple new games to play as a family. The kids wake up and eat candy for breakfast… we play one of our new games and then we feed them even more sugar by having a special brunch lol (usually something junky- this year it was cinnamon rolls and turkey bacon :)) We eat healthy year-round so Christmas, Valentines, St. Patricks, Easter and Halloween are sugar fests and my kids love it. lol

I used to give my daughter a gift for Valentine’s Day - usually a smalled stuffed toy and chocolate. I stopped when she informed me that getting Valentines from your parents was lame. She was still in elementary school. Now that she’s grown, she and her SO go out, give each other small gifts, and she and I and one of my best friends go shopping the day after for half price chocolates.

It’s way after the fact now and probably no one is reading this, but I’ll update just in case. I gave my kids each a card, some jellybeans, lifesaver gummies, a book, a very small toy and a set of twistables (crayons for one, colored pencils for the other). I wasn’t going to include the toys or the gummies, but we were going on a plane trip that afternoon and I figured it would keep them busy and keep their ears from popping. They both loved the gift bags and I spent around $12 per kid.
