Toddler Says He Has "Bugs in Eyes"???

My son has been rubbing his eyes and saying "eyes" then "bugs". He points to his eyes and very seriously says "bugs, bugs". He is 23 months old, so his vocabulary isn't such that he can explain anything. We do have an animal book, and he knows what bugs are. In the bathtub he will pour water in his eyes, rub them then say "bugs". Sometimes he rubs his eyes so hard that they are very red. Claritin Side Effects with Toddlers

Has anyone given claritin to a toddler and experience behavioral side-effects? My 2.5 year old has been taking Claritin for a little over a week and has been acting up much more than usual (e.g., throwing things and hitting). I realize that some of his behaviors are typical 2 year old behaviors, but his behavior definitely seems to have changed since starting the allergy medicine.

kThe Start of Pink Eye?

DS woke up this morning with just a tiny bit of crud in his corner eye towards the nose. The whites of his eyes are slightly red but i can tell they are irritated. I asked him if they burned or itched and he said no. When i washed his face i took a warm wash cloth and rubbed a little and asked if that hurt and he said no. The start of pink eye? It looks like but i guess i may have to wait another day or so. I asked him if he accidentally poked himself in the eye and he said no. Thoughts???
