Baby Gear Bought 6+ Years Ago - What Do We Need to Replace?

We are blessed to have a new baby coming soon. We have ALL of our gear from baby #1 (that was 6 years ago). So what should we replace? I planned to use all of our "old" stuff, but have read that primarily the bottles and infant carrier should be replaced due to old, brittle plastic and changes in standards/requirements/and the BPA issue. I really don't want to go out and spend a ton on stuff we aren't going to use very long, but I also am not in a financial quandry where I want to risk my baby's health or safety either by being cheap....

Baby Bjorn Carrier Air

I'm thinking about getting the Baby Bjorn Carrier Air for my daughter (3months). We live in AZ (HOT!!!) and she doesn't like being hot at all! Does this carrier really keep baby cooler than a traditional carrier? And how is it on your back? Any suggestions? Thanks! EDIT!! Sorry, I didn't mean I want to carry my baby on my back, I meant how does your back feel while wearing it. Sorry for the confusion!

Mommy and Baby Products

I just had a quick question. I have several family members who are going to be having babies here really soon. I have my ideas of what to get them but I am requesting others ideas. So my questions are if you were given a mommy and bay basket at he hospital what products or things would you just want to have in it? Is Baby Bjorn Bad??

I just read in someone else's post that she was looking for a new carrier because she heard the Baby Bjorn was bad for the baby's spine. I carry my 4 1/2-month old daughter in a Baby Bjorn several times a week on our morning walk, so hearing it might be bad worried me. Does anyone have more information about this? Thanks!!
