Toddler Car Seat Needed!!

We have one toddler carseat, but we need one more for Daddy's car. The prices for these things can get outrageous, so I decided to ask you mamas! Does anybody have a toddler carseat or know someone who does who is willing to sell it for a fair price? I have searched Craigslist, but I haven't found anything great. I have a two year old, so a infant/toddler carseat won't fit her anymore--that's what we have now. Perhaps a car seat that can turn into a booster seat later. The one we have now seems to fit her pretty well.

The Best Booster Seat

I am interested in moving my daughter to a new seat (which is my sons old car seat), so I want to get a booster seat for my son. He just turned three. I've looked at Target and there are several kinds. Does anyone have a really good feeling about the booster seat they have for their toddler? I don't know if we should go with the five point system, like he has now or to go with one that uses the seatbelt to strap him in, like he'll have to get used to in the future. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Do I Need to Bring a Carseat?

I am going on a Scandanavian cruise with my husband and (will be 2 year old) daughter in the end of August. I have found this amazing website for a product called Cares. Its a 5 point harness you attach to the airplane seat which omits bringing the bulky car seat. Problem solved for the airplane but I'm wondering if I am going to need it for the land tours on the cruise. I know must of the land tours load everyone up on big buses which has no seatbelts anyways. Has anybody been on this type of trip? We will be on the Princess cruise...

I'm a first-time Mom to be (in April) and have been trying to figure out what type of car seat to buy. I've had several people tell me their children grew out of the infant seat at 6-8 months (either for weight or for height). I'd like some opinions of whether or not an infant seat is absolutely necessary or if I could make due with the convertible seat. For instance, is it really easy to carry the infant seat around-seems like it would be heavy with the baby in it. Also, any tips on favorite brands would be appreciated. Thanks!
