To Rent or Buy a Carpet Cleaner?

I've been thinking about either buying a carpet cleaner or renting one for a very long time now. I live in an apartment and well it's covered with stains and I've tried to use other means to get them out. Just not working very well. I would love to buy one so that way if/when we do move I have it for our next place. I'm not sure which one is best to buy. I've been to Target and saw what they have as well as Wal-Mart. What Do You Think of the New Target

The Target in our area has been annoucing fresh foods coming soon for about 3 months and they slowly been moving things arround. I only been there a few times in the past few months. Well today I had to make an exchange, need a few items and wanted to check out the school supplies. My experience was horrible. It was like shopping at an overpriced discount store.
