Baby Has Hard Bowel Movements

I have a happy one year old daughter who has always had problems with harder than normal bowel movements. When she was just a few months old we had to put her on sorbital(sugar water). I hated having to do this and started feeding her prunes and other foods that I thought would help. She's now drinking milk and it's gotten worse. She's not constipated she actually goes 4-5 times a day, but it's in rabbit pellet form. I hate to be so blunt, but I'm hoping that someone has some ideas on how to cure this without over-the-counter meds. I...

14-Month-old Is Constipated

My 14-month-old son is constipated a few times a week. I have been in contact a few times with the pediatrician's office and am doing everything I can. This started when he was switched over from formula to whole milk. Also, he does not drink much water. I am always forcing it on him, but he won't drink much. I give him prunes or blueberries to eat, make his baby cereal with prune juice, give him whole grain foods, etc. I also water down his milk and occasionally put Karo syrup in his milk. He still has problems with constipation. ...

Diarrhea - What to Do

Hi- My daughter is 10 months old and has diarrhea ever since we were at the doctors office for her check-up a week and a half ago. She did not receive any vaccines however, she did receive her first dose of the flu shot. She has no other signs of being sick, ie; no fever, still eating well and over all good spirits. I am not sure what to do. She is eating table food in addition to being breast fed four times a day. Any suggestions about what to do would be great. Thank you!!

Why my breastfed baby have green poop?

I have a 3 1/2 week old son who is breastfeeding exclusively. Once the meconium passed from his system, his poo turned seedy and mustard colored as is described in the literature. About a week ago, his poo turned more green and more runny. Based on what I have read, this could be do to: ingesting too much foremilk in relation to hindmilk, a food allergy to something like dairy, or a viral/bacterial infection. He doesn't have a fever and doesn't have any other signs of infection. I am currently in the process of feeding longer on one...

Blood in Vegan Infant's Stool

I apologize for the long post, but I have been doing a lot of research and it doesn't seem like the other posts quite cover our situation so I am going into great detail. My son is 15 weeks old and has had traces of blood in his stool for about 6 weeks now. The doctor's first suggestion was that it could be due to a fissure, but we haven't been able to find one by visual inspection and the blood has not gone away after using a prescription cream to prevent/heal fissures. He has been exclusively breastfed since birth. I have been vegan for...
