Your Opinions on Singulair

I have a 5 yr old daughter who gets a wicked cough a few times a year. This past trip to the ped he suggested we start her on 4 mg of Singulair. My husband is asthmatic and the ped feels that there is a possibility that she may be diagnosed later in life with asthma. She is considered at risk because she has had upper respiratory issues a few times this past winter. My question is that I've heard both good and bad about this medication and I am just concerned. My 4 year old , 5 in Dec. Has allergies. He has been on several different types of Allergy medicines and nothing is seeming to help. He gets headaches and runny noses often. He is a very active child and loves playing outside. We also spend alot of time in the country.

Help! Singulair Prescribed for My 3 1/2 Year Old.

We took my 3 1/2 yr old son to the doctor yesterday and asked what to give him for his allergies. He has been off and on allergy medicine since he was 6 months old. Currently we were told to put him on Clariten OTC which is no longer working. So we asked the doctor and she prescribed Singulair which I have heard good and bad things about it. Has anyone given it to their kids and what kind of results did you get? Thanks moms you always help!!
