Am I Asking Too Much from My Daughter's Grades??

Hello. My daughter is 12 and going into 7th grade(she has a late birthday, but going from private to public school they couldnt hold her back). Her grades are mostly A's with 2 or 3 B's. When her grades drop from A's to B's I confront her. Yes, I admit to yelling and scolding sometimes. She isn't that fragile, a very strong child when it comes to emotions, but most of the time she says I'm "so hard on her about one B" that she cries and locks herself in her room. Am I being to hard on her about her grades? I know she can do better, she used...

1St Period After Baby!

Hello ladies...well the title says it all. I'm finally having my 1st period after having my baby 6 months ago. I also breastfed for 3 months so it's taken 3 months to get my period. Anyways... I am soooooo uncomfterble. I guess I don't remember my periods ever being this bad. I'm not very moody...but maybe that's just because I'm trying not to be so my husband doesn't have to suffer too. ;) But I'm having severe cramping. I have a busy week ahead of me and I'm going to the park to do some walking today to see if that helps. I...

Grades in Preschool

Hello. I recently posted about possibly holding my son back in school and year and not sending him to kindergarten...anyway I'm kind of shocked because it appears he's being graded on his homework, A's, B's, C's etc. The first few assignments were smiley faces, etc but he came home with 2 C's and 2 D's on his papers. Is this common in preschool-to get grades? Also what is done in Kindergarten...I assume they're graded based on what I saw today. I plan to talk to the teacher tomorrow, but I'm pretty upset tonight about it.

Do We Have a Right to Know About Why a Teacher Wasn't in School?

And please, before you respond, take a deep breath and carefully read what I wrote before you answer. Most of the responses that I have received have been very reactionary and very insulting. About a month ago, my daughter's teacher all of sudden didn't come to school. The first day, we thought she was sick. The second day, we thought she was sick again. The third day, we wondered if everything was all right. A week later, some parents including myself started asking the principal questions. He was very vague about it, even though...
