Our family loves Gunguis Home Child Care! Doris is warm and loving and our 20 month old daughter has been there since she was 3 months old. Doris is clean and organized and has great activities including crafts for the little ones. Our daughter loves going there and playing with the other kids. She is happy, well-taken care of and is learning Spanish as well! It's great, and as this is our 3rd child, we know an outstanding day care provider when we see one. Doris is it. My son has had experiences in for profit child care centers since he was 10 mo old. I have had him at La Petite and Lil Scholar. My experiences at both locations were terrible. After an incident at Lil Scholar I chose to take him out of for profit centers and place him at a home daycare. Not only am I HIGHLY recommending Gunguis Child Care, my son is living proof that large classrooms with limited number of care providers is cause for disaster. Gunguis is small, child centered, and fun. My son loves to go to school in the morning. We don't have crying fits anymore, he does not beg to come home with me. He actually would rather stay at school than come home with me in the afternoon. Ms. B does a great job building relationships with the kids. This is a sign that he is in the right place. I was skeptical about using an at home daycare because of liability. My son has been severely injured at La Petite and due to behaviors that began at Lil Scholar I had Triangles come in for an evaluation. After speaking with the gentleman who did the behavior analysis, he suggested I remove him from Lil Scholar. I did and I have not been happier. I love the atmosphere...my son eats more now than he ever has. She makes sure that he tries something new, without making him feel "forced" to eat. His experience at Gunguis Child Care is one I would highly recommend. If you make an appointment and interview and still have questions, you can always contact me. I am a teacher for CCSD and have high expectations for my child. His social behavior has dramatically improved, his manners have returned because he is required to use them at all times and he is learning how to write his letters and numbers.
