I think you could apply some of these remedies and clear it up yourself.
I've never heard of that but could it be true? What happens if I don't have health insurance...how can I get checked or examined ?

Yea I got yeast infections just but everywhere. Nails, Nipples, usual areas, feet. Best treatment I found was vinegar and water, soaking the infection in a vinegar/water mix suffocates it. My dermatologists says its better than majority of pill solutions. Give it s shot, mix 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water or 6. Vinegar can burn so best to make sure its not directly poured on
I had it & I did not have a baby. If that is the case & your not BF'ing, then it is called systemic yeast. It is treated basically the same with a script. I forget the name of the medicine, but last i took it, it was expensive. My nipple was very itchy & scaly. Kinda like you would imagine poison ivy would be just on your nip. I coated it with monostat & used panty liners inside my bra to get relief. I went to dermatologist who took scrapings & I had off the chart yeast on scalp, mouth, eyelids, nip, belly, etc...I was on script for like 3 months before it was back under control & told there was an immune problem with it getting that bad. I was checked for all kinds of things including lupus, but negative. I also have alopecia. I think it is all connected and started when I showed positive for epstien barr virus, which goes hand in hand with mono. Hope this helps & my insurance covered nothing.
Are you nursing? It's called Thrush -- and babies can give it to you from their mouth. If you're nursing you need to treat the baby's mouth as well. Is there a clinic you could go to? If you're nursing, is the baby on some kind of insurance? You could at least get treatment for the baby that way.
Nursing or not here are some ways to treat it by Dr. Sears:

I've had this one time during nursing - it was NOT pleasant. I hope it clears up quickly.
Yes it's Thrush. If the inside of your baby's mouth has white patches or his/her tongue is white (make sure it's not just milk) then that's what it is. It is painful/burns... It's not super serious but you can get some free info about what needs to happen with it from a lactation consultant at a hospital breast feeding clinic. Most hospitals have one, call around to find one in your area. They can also tell you for sure if that's what it is before you pay to go to a dr.
