Game Stop/Best Buy had the cards.
They'll love it.
Just get what you'd normally spend, don't get caught up in the "conversion" rate! A 20-25 card would be a nice gift per kid.
My brother mentioned his kids would like "xbox points to buy games and stuff" for Christmas. What? I googled this and it notes that $1 = 80 points thus $20 = 16000 points. If I bought this for them would it be worth anything? Are there any discounts? Could they do anything with them? This is foreign to me - we watch TV on Hulu - no game systems for us.
Thanks for explaining this to me. It seems odd that you buy points to buy stuff and games - why not just by the stuff and games. I was glad to see that the kids can earn points by playing games. I picked up $30 worth at Target and since they have the get a $10 gift card coupon right now it was almost like getting it on sale or a discount.
I am 34. I have never noticed this in stores - I have 2 small children so not a lot of time perusing in the gaming aisle, especially since we don't have a gaming system or TV.

You can buy little Microsoft point gift cards at most places that sell video games. The kids get the card, scratch off the code on the back and redeem it online to get games and other virtual goodies. They are worth hours of entertainment if spent on the right games. The kids will know what games they want and the "store" where they buy them is right on their TV set. Very convenient!
yes they are worth it if the kids know what they want and play on it a lot. You can get the cards/points at amazon sometimes cheaper, not always but sometimes.
And the cards can also be gotten at best buy, game stop, and other such places.
You can buy Microsoft points they are not called xbox points by most places.. He /them can buy add ons or even games for the xbox 360 system . I am curious on how old you are because they sell these in most major stores.
They are called Microsoft points. They can purchase games, game addons (like maps), movies, etc. with them. Of course the more you purchase the more stuff you can buy. A $20 card is great with my kids. They can get several things with this. No - there are no discounts or sales on these.
The points allow them to
- download games (just like an iTunes card allows one to download music)
- purchase upgrades
- rent movies
- buy music
Ditto... Don't get caught up in the conversion scale. Its there, because people also EARN point playing various games. 5 points for this, 15 points for that. So the conversion scale is pretty huge. They want people to be able to earn 100 points in a game, but don't want that to = $100 (or even $10)!!!
they are called Microsoft points and we get ours off of amazon for a little cheaper then in store. we normally get the $60.00 card and it lasts for a long time
