Would You Buy These?

I am wanting to do something to keep me busy and bring in some extra money for my family. I found this "be your own boss" "work at home" company where I would make soy candles and sell them. They are said to be "healthier" than normal wax candles. Anyway I am very cautious when it come to doing something like this and I was wondering if you or anyone you know would actually buy something like this? Or would it just be a waste of my own time and money to get into the business...What do y'all think? Any opinions? Thanks everyone.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much Mommas. That is exactly the feedback I was looking for...honesty. And since the majority says they wouldn't buy something like that (which I didn't think people really would) it won't be something I look further into. Thanks for the input, much appreciated!

Honestly, like the other person said, I am sick of candles and have shelves full of ones I get as gifts and never use. I wish you the very best of luck though.

I would probably buy soy based candles, I have heard they have a stronger scent and are "healthier". But from a business starting stand point I would check with BBB and equivalents before investing money.

I agree with what the person below said that you should check any business out with the BBB. When I found my home based business I asked myself 3 things...1)Can people buy this or something as good as this at a store? 2)Was the company checked out by BBB and the govt. so that it was a legal Net-work marketing company and not a scam and 3)Do I personally know people who would buy and use this product regularly?

Hi S.,

I think it is great that you are doing your research before jumping in to a work from home opportunity. I have been working from home for almost 3 years now, and have been very fortunate to find a company that is not multi-level-marketing, I don't have to sell anything or do parties. I have been asked to write articles for different publications on working from home - the pitfalls and pluses - and so here are some pointers for you, as you continue to do your research:

Get as much information as you can.
Be wary of companies that are “ground floor” or less than 15 years old, since most of them do not last.
Be sure that the company is financially sound and is run by experienced managers and leaders.
Be sure there is a real product, not just a gimmick.
Be sure there is a high customer reorder rate.
Check if people make their money from sign-up fees or inventory loading because it might be illegal.
Beware of having to part with large sums of money to join. Make sure the opportunity is risk free.
Ask yourself “Does this make sense?”
Ask yourself, "Is there any substance to their claims?" Be wary if they will not substantiate their income and product claims in writing.

Once you find an opportunity that is a good fit for you and your family, my advice is to “go for it!” It's going to take time to fully realize your vision of working at home, but believe you CAN do this! Millions of people are already successfully working from home, and you can too. Just choose a direction and start moving toward it!

I hope this helps, and you are welcome to check out the company I work for and request more information from the website: www.momsearn.com

Also feel free to contact me at ____@____.com if I can be of any further help. Working from home has been a great income source for me and my family, but you do need to find the right company for you.

Have a great day,

D.

I personally think it would be very hard to sell something that is not a necessity for people with our economy being what it is. Also you only make money when you sell so you may go months putting time in with no income.
I have been working from home for almost 3 years with Work at Home United. I like it because I don't sell, stock , or deliver products I simply educate via phone conference calls then set up online accounts and mentor others. I get residual income, so even if I take a month off I still have a great RELIABLE check coming in.
Good luck whatever you decide and if you want to request info on what I do visit www.behometoo.biz and click get more info. or email me and we can schedule an overview call. :)

I wouldn't buy them. I think candles used to be more used than they are now. People still give candles as gifts but most people don't really want one, just my 2 cents, sorry it isn't more positive.

I would not pay someone to make their candles. There are several reputable companies out there for whom you can sell their candles. You could also look into getting the equipment from Hobby Lobby or Garden Ridge and making your own. Honestly I don't think it is that difficult to do. Also, you can get supplies at www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com. Good Luck!

There are many ways to earn from home...yes you want to find a legit company but please remember that earning as your own boss is not easy, not free, and does have 100% to do with who you are as a person and what you are attracting to you.

All the best in your endeavors.

I have bought some soy candles and they are better than wax for sure. They smell longer and scent stays. I am one that loves my house to smell good and i used them in a potpourri burner and they last longer. Anyways i guess it depends on the price and if it's worth the time to make them. I was thinking of making some of my own because i want certain color with a certain scent. So that would be cool if you could pick a color, size and scent. I don't know if it is cost effective though. Stay positive!!!!
