Would like to Find a Playgroup.

Good Morning J., Welcome to KS and you live on the east side of Wichita. I live in Benton which is North and east of you, in butler county. There are several moms on here who live in and around Wichita. I care for my 4 yr old and 2 yr old gr son's daily. Corbin the oldest is in Pre K so my mornings are very limited. I have met another mom from Derby at Town East Mall. They have a nice play area out in the food court area of Sears. Town East is straight north on Rock Rd from Kellogg.
There is another mom Brianna I think her name is (Oppppppppps Her name is Channah. HI Lori!!! ) that wanted to get together also. I hope there are a lot of Moms here who will welcome you and make plans to get together soon.

Yes, welcome to Kansas. Karen was correct, the base is on the Southeast part of Wichita. I live in Derby, I'm the one Karen was talking about. I live in the next town straight south of you, (down Rock Road).

As for playgroups, I'm not familiar with any, but I'm sure you will have a lot of moms respond to your post. If I hear of any starting, I'll let you know. I have a son who's three, so the odds of our kids playing are probably not great. (Age range is too much. I wouldn't want my son to tromple your son. lol)

Hi J., welcome to Wichita!

There is a program here through the public school system called Parents as Teachers. http://pat.usd259.org/ It's free, they have lots of playgroups all over town that meet once a week, as well as special monthly playgroups and big quarterly events. You can also sign up to have a teacher come to your house once a month for about an hour and show you things you can do as you play with your son to help him learn. They will also do yearly developmental evaluations. I have a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old (both girls) and both of them love Miss Chris, our PAT gal. Sarah (3) gets very excited when I tell her Miss Chris is coming over.

Welcome to Wichita! My kiddos are all in school now. But, we did also go thru PAT and also got involved at church that had a strong early childhood ed program. Don't know where your religion falls but I know many churches around here have lots of kids day out programs. That is a great way to get to know other kids/moms of the same age.
