Would a 2Yr Old Have Fun at Six Flags?

We've been given free tickets to Six Flags to go with some friends this weekend. There will be 4 adults, and 4 boys ages 7,6,6,and 4. Would it be insane to take my just-turning-two year old? The boys really can't ride the big rides yet, but I know she won't be able to ride even a lot of the smaller rides. I'd appreciate knowing your experiences, advice. I'm just trying to decide how much to stress over getting someone to watch her for the day. It's tempting to take her since she'll be free as well.

What can I do next?

I have an 11 and 9 year old as well as a soon to be 3 year old. We've taken all 3 to sixflags. My toddler stayed in his stroller most of the time. We took him on a few of the 'Looney Toons' rides but he'd only ride if I rode with him (that was a hoot to see!) other than that he stayed in his stroller with me while my other two rode with their dad on the bigger rides. He didnt seem to mind. We'd get him out of the stroller and let him walk a bit. He got tired quickly and took a long nap in the stroller. It wasnt so bad. We have season passes and go all the time.

Don't take her! She will not have fun, and you won't be able to do anything! I've done it, it's not fun!

I took my almost 2 yr old last October and he did great.
Only you know your child and how much you think she'll tolerate. Most children love the outdoors and something exciting to look at which it's very exciting at Six Flags so I'm sure she'll do fine. BTW, we were there for approx 5 hours all together, not the entire day. But either way, yes I'm sure she'll have a good time!

Have fun and take care!

The question is...will you enjoy a 2 yr old at Six Flags. lol
I wouldn't mind personally because I wouldn't ride many rides anyway. It might be nice (weather permitting) to get some air~! As long as you keep the day pretty short...I would think you would be fine.

I just went to six flags about
2 weeks ago and I saw that there are ALOT of new smaller rides since the last time I went... which was two years ago that kids that age can get in. My daughter hasn't even turned one yet but she enjoyed just being outside and the cartoon characters but that just depends on you if you want to get on all the big rides.

If it were a day just for the 2 year old, yes a 2 year old could have tons of fun. However, with the older kids, they wouldn't have fun doing only what a 2 year old could do. If your 2 year old is patient at waiting for the bigger kids to get off rides and is content to watch people from a stoller, I see no problem taking her. But if she's like my son was a 2 years old, impatient / non-stroller / wanderer, then I think you and the older boys would have lots more fun without her. We took my son for the first time at almost 3. I think that's a much better age. There are still lots of things my 6 year old wants to do that he can't do even though he'd like to. But it works as we always go with my sister and her kids who are 10 & 13. So, my husband and I ride the "medium" rides with our 6 year old and her 2 girls while they'll take my youngest on the smaller rides.

We live in Arlington and have season passes to Six Flags. I take my almost 2 year old daughter at least 5 times a year. She loves it. There are several rides that she can ride with you. If you are going with a few adults, trade off on watching the baby and riding the kiddie rides so that you don't get bored. Let her out of the stroller to stretch her legs every once in awhile and she'll be fine. If you are the only adult going, I'd say forget it but with more than one adult, it should be fine.

We took my daughter a couple of times when she was two, and we all had fun. Adults can ride along on several of the smaller rides, so she was able to ride the balloon ferris wheel, the little trucks and the merry-go-round. She had fun and so did we.

If the tickets are free, it's probably the best time to find out. Maybe take 2 cars. I don't know the 4 adults that are going, but if the 2 yr old doesn't do well, maybe 1 of the adults can take the 2 year old home while the rest stay.
