Hi moms, my husbands birthday is coming up and as every year it's hard to think of a gift. He (and me) loves wine, so now I was thinking about maybe a wine tasting. Or something else wine related. Does anybody know if there are wineries around here? And if they have tastings? Or maybe in a store/wine cellar?

Thank you for your help.

So What Happened?

wow, great Erika, thank you so much. Exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you.

Debi and Cindy, the Cru winebar and Tony’s wine warehouse are definitely places we will go to in the near future. Thank you so much for the websites, I would never have found them by myself.

Esther: Swirll is very interesting. But a batch of wine is 28-30 bottles. That’s a bit too much. However it’s a very interesting idea.

Heather, maybe the Swirll website that Esther gave is what you have in mind?

Girls, thank you so much for the input. It’s also very refreshing to talk about wine in stead of potty training.

Another idea- Cru Wine bar near downtown Dallas is awesome! They have awesome meals and then pair each course w/ a wine.

Here is their web page:

Hey I.,
A few years ago my friend got a great gift from her parents for Christmas. She got to go to a winery in Grapevine and make her very own wine with flavors she selected. They aged it for her, and we bottled it there together a few weeks later. I thought it was the coolest thing for a wine lover! But for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the place.

I haven't tried this place but it seems really interesting.
You can make your own batch of wine, after tasting several and deciding what you want. When it's ready, you get several bottles for yourselves, as gifts, etc., with personalized labels.

Tony's Wine Warehouse is more of an upscale restaurant combined with a warehouse feeling. They do hold wine classes open to the public.
