Hi!! Does anyone know of a service that comes in and cleans (in my case scrubs) the blinds on the windows? I would rather have someone come in and do it for me. But if anyone has a GREAT MIRCLE product that will take the inch dirt and dust come off the blinds easily I am open for that information!!! THanks and really need to get my blinds clean before Mother-in-law comes to stay!!!!!

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone!!!! I did call around and discovered that Alot of carpet cleaning services and window cleaning services do perform this kind of cleaning.
But We did it ourselves and since they are wood we used the product "Glo" which is a wood floor cleaner. It cleaned them but it was a long tiring process since we have 24 windows all differnt sizes and shapes!! we also put a little Murphy's oil on them after they dried so to repell dust. ( this was a little secret that one of the window cleaners shared with us) Thanks and best of luck with your window blinds.

Hi,
If they are metal or plastic mini-blinds, you can just take them down and take them in the back yard and turn the hose on them. In this heat they dry quickly and then can be re-hung. That's what we did and it worked quite well.
Thanks,
E.

Hi A., I've been there. With the addition of a new baby boy, I let the blinds go for a long while. When I did finally get around to them, a touch of dish soap and warm water did wonders. I filled a big bucket and carted it through the house. It's been a month and they need touching up, but an old sock and water did it.

I am right there with you, we moved into a home that has real wood blinds, and I am kinda scared to put soapy water on them in fear of them worping or something. Let me know if you find someone that does clean them or how you cleaned yours.

It's amazing what water pressure from a hose can do, but I guess it depends on the type of blinds they are, if removable.

Hi A.,
I've been meaning to do this myself! If your blinds are like mine, you can pop open the brackets and remove the blinds. I take the blinds out and wash them in the bathtub with warm soapy water and then lay them on towels to dry. It is easier to me to be able to get to all sides of the blinds at once. Hope that helps.
