Will I Regret Leopard Print Luggage?

Okay, really unimportant question, but I'd like some opinions. I am considering buying some luggage that is a leopard pattern. I really like leopard, and have for many, many years. Will I regret this purchase when I'm 50 or 60? (I'm 42 now.) I mostly travel for pleasure, but sometimes for business. Would this luggage seem unprofessional to colleagues? This luggage will likely be in use for many years. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I felt silly even posting this question, but so glad I did! I took the plunge and ordered it. For what it's worth, it's a metallic/shiny hard sided luggage, so not faux fur or anything. (It's the QVC today's special, if you want to take a peek!) I have had the same black, boring luggage since I got married 17 years ago and I'm so tired of trying to locate it on the luggage carousel. I'm not in a terribly conservative field, and most of my colleagues won't be surprised to see me with leopard print luggage. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer.

No! You will always love it.

I bought a red kitchen aide mixer 10 years ago, against my mom's recommendation (get white! black! stainless steel! you'll get sick of it later!) and I still love it with all my heart.

When I went to DC last year I was in the airport waiting for my luggage. (I always tie a big sparkly christmas bow on my luggage lol) as I am waiting I see this really pretty pink/black zebra stripe luggage coming down. Now I am watching to see which lady picks it up. The young professional woman, the mom with 2 kids screaming, the old lady with the babushka on her head? So many women and men standing around just waiting. nope..... it was a bald 50+ man with a briefcase. betting his wife picked it out and said you won't have to wonder which black suitcase is yours. when I get new luggage I am going with something like that

I just bought hot pink luggage... and I'm in construction. My male colleagues will probably just roll their eyes. Oh well, I will be able to find my luggage instantly at the airport, and to me, that was the whole point! I hope you enjoy your new leopard print luggage. You will enjoy it for years, and I don't think you'll regret it!

Leopard print is chic and in style... and has been for a long time. Plus, it's is easier to see on the baggage claim.

I once went tame for luggage instead of some NICE expensive leopard print luggage. I still regret it! My dumb black luggage blends with all the others on the carousel.

I'm 41. Leopard is always in. Even when it's out. It's like snakeskin print or batik. It's practically a neutral. It's timeless. You either like it or you don't. You don't carry it around with you everywhere you go. You only have it to travel. I would go for it. (It will be even better for you at 50 or 60, less funky, more mature) 8kids is right, I was in garment industry, and leopard luggage would not be unprofessional.

I wouldn't care about leopard print or not. But if you are in a conservative business, like banking or engineering, it would not appear as professional as it would if you were a hunter or a vet, or a clothing designer, or a fashon consultant.

I hope I explained that well.

Good luck to you and yours.

I think you should go for it. Unfortunately it may not last until you are 50 the way bags are treated.
Unprofessional luggage? I don't think so unless it includes your briefcase.

How professional does luggage really have to be? I have attorney friends that have some crazy luggage. It is easy to find on the carousel and I think that is the most important thing. It's not like it's your purse and it goes to the office with you. Buy it!

We travel back and forth to Colorado about ten times a year. Last year I got a bright orange set of luggage (a gift-I wanted bright but not necessarily orange- it reads as tomato red sometimes),one daughter got hot pink, one daughter got purple. We are 55,16 and 13. We are also grabbing our luggage and gone so quick because it is QUITE obvious when our luggage arrives on the carousel.
If it is good looking luggage, you will LOVE it. Most important-get wheels!!

Well, I HATE all animal prints on ANYthing (other than on alive animals...LOL), so you could guess what my answer is... :)

But, I don't think animal print is only for certain ages. Please take no offense at ALL, but it seems to me that animal print is quite liked by the over 50 population. Also, If you like it now and have always liked it, why worry you'll change your mind in 8 years? Also, I'm with others: it will show up VERY well at baggage claim... even I love that!

you will not regret it especially if you will be traveling by air. We took our first big trip (air and cruise) last Dec. The people we traveled with, (seasoned travelers) did not tell us to not get plain black luggage. One of our bags was taken off the conveyor belt in Ft. Lauderdale. I thought I saw it coming around but was not positive. Never got it back. If we would have had something with a design we would have been able to spot it coming around. Lesson learned the hard way. I am considering getting a wild pink zebra set for next trip. LOL

Get it! I would get puke green, anything but black. I would love me some leapord print. Animal patterns can be classic as long as you do not walk around in full animal print with your luggage. You know head to toe.

Sound like a very good plan to me. Certainly beats the thousands of plain black suitcases you see when traveling. That is what my family has. So I tied orange yarn around the handles so they are noticeable to my family. Get the leopard print!

From someone who travels often, I would not buy luggage you care that much about. Luggage gets thrown around, wheels get broken, zippers break off, etc. The airline does not cover any damage to your luggage.

I do own good luggage but it is sturdy and if it ends up in a mud puddle, oh well. I use Orvis luggage and it is different than everyone elses plus Orvis has a lifetime warranty on the luggage so when things break, they repair.
