Why Do I Take Things So Personally and Need to "Fix" Them

So I just posted a question about my cell. I didn't receive a call BF got mad thought i wasn't paying attention to phone- turns out to be bad signal..he says he's fine to let it go.. but I am having trouble. I seem to take things so personally, like anything he says or that makes him mad I feel the NEED to fix and have to restrain myself b/c sometimes I go over top and make it much worse. And I know he's not really mad at ME...Does this happen to anyone else?

What can I do next?

Yep. Right there with you. In fact sometimes I get defensive when I know he's not mad a ME, but something went wrong at work and he's upset. I feel lousy, even tho I KNOW he's not mad at me. I just try to listen, not react, and then go take a bath and read a book to get my mind off it. It's hard not taking things your SO says personally.

Dear A.,
There is this wonderful thing- Dianetics- have you heard of this? When just exactly what you are talking about happens- Dianetics answers that- and there is a place opening in Ocala. Send me contact data, and I could have a friend of mine call you, if you'd like- he is going to be working there in Ocala.
There is a solution!!!!!
best, k

You are trying too much and too hard to please him or not to get on his bad side. Be yourself and if you have a valid reason for doing what you did, stick to it and let it go. You are making it worse if you continue like this, because then he won't respect you as having a voice or an opinion. Think about you sometimes.

Some medications can make people irritable. Also diabetics can be somewhat aggressive. And of course our womanly monthly gift. Just try to be a listener so to speak than an acuser. Im the same way in some words. Cant help it. Just the way I was raised. Hope I,ve helped.
