Definitely hormones, I've experienced it after birth and at menopause, and I didn't like it, either :-/
Since giving birth to our third child two months ago, I've noticed that I'm, well, stinky. I now have underarm odor and odor "down there". I've tried using three different deodorants, all to no avail. I've even tried using the 48-hour, so-effective-you-can-skip-a-day Mitchum deodorant for women, but even that fails me after a few hours (I sooooo cannot skip a day). I don't sweat profusely or anything, and I shower every day, sometimes twice a day. But I still end up funky under my arms, and smelly in my "nether regions". One time, as embarassing as this sounds, I asked my husband to check my "nether region" because I thought I nicked myself while shaving. Although he willingly obliged, he also informed me that I was smelly. I had JUST gotten out of the shower, for Pete's sake!
Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't had a problem with controlling body odor in the past, so this is new to me, and quite shocking. I do NOT like smelling like I forgot to put on deodorant mere hours after stepping out of the shower and slathering the deodorant on. What's going on with me? We haven't changed soaps or detergents recently. I eat the same foods I used to eat before getting pregnant. Nothing of note has changed. Please help!

It's hormonal. Just like when you're a teen going through physical changes...you're going through changes now. Things will balance out in time, but you can cut back on onions, asparagus, garlic, spicy foods, etc. as these are all B.O. offenders. Drink lots of water. This flushes out toxins which can add to any smell too. Probiotics are good for B.O. because it knocks out yeast overgrowth in the gut.
It sounds like hormones to me. Put a call in to your OB and ask for suggestions.
given the information you've just told us it HAS to be hormones.
Yes I wen't through it as well, it's just a result of the drastic hormonal changes. I couldn't STAND my own smell for WEEKS and finally it started to relent. I was constantly showering but because I was breastfeeding tried to stay away from strongly scented perfumes and soaps. It was unpleasant, to say the least but it's not permanent. You may consider a feminine cleaning option , you know, starts with a d...I can't bring myself to type it out online ;-) and that will help a bit with the vaginal odor. Otherwise, just think of it as natures way of helping your baby find you. lol
This is happening to me in menopause, so I am thinking it is my hormones. I NEVER had this issue, no matter what I use. I am trying corn starch powder on top of my deodorant and that seems to be keeping me dryer.
CONGRATULATIONS on your baby!!!
Your hormones are still in flux after giving birth. If this goes on for another month, I would contact my OB/GYN and tell them what is going on. You might be able to talk to your PCP as well.
Try drinking more water and or cranberry juice to clean your system out as well.
I didn't have this problem...I had black heads on my chest....that was YUCKY!!! And I didn't get black heads there...so I called my OB and she told me - this is hormones..they will go away...they did..it took about 3 months...and like you I showered twice a day.urgh!
I noticed that too.
I just figured it was hormones.
Still probably is.
I also stopped using Deodorant with Aluminum about the same time...So I think I always attributed to that.
Now I am wondering if it maybe something else??
The overuse of soap can cause a PH level upset to the point where the all the nasty " germs" take over and produce stinky smells. I think you need to see a doc and see what's up.
Yes it happened to me. I would shower and step out of the shower with stinky under arms. My husband helped me to realize that I was not doing the number 2 like I should have. I first went to have colon cleanse after the first few I searched for natural ways. I do not have a body order any longer.
Are you using the bathroom everyday?
could you have toxic build up in your system?
i had this after i had my daughter for the 1st few weeks, not down there as much but def under arms
check with your doc and drink lots of water. give up soda if you drink it.
After I gave birth the "nether regions" didn't smell so great either. I thought it was because I was washing very carefully down there (was still in pain) and maybe it wasn't getting clean enough. Turns out it was the stitches. Once the stitches fell out, the smell went away.
If that isn't it, I would guess hormones. Damn hormones.
i had smelly issues after my son was born. I had to use men's deoderant, and i still do and my son is 3.5 yrs old. for the "nether region" ask your doctor if you have a infection of some sort thats making you smelly. im sorry and good luck!!
