Our 3 week old has a white small spot in the center of her pupil in one eye. Has anyone experienced this? If so, what is it? No luck finding anything on google. Won't see pediatrician until August. Will put call into nurse tomorrow. She seems healthy and alert and is able to make eye contact and follow objects so we're not really concerned, but still want to know what this is. Trying to get an appointment with the eye doctor also. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. Please help if you can.

Baby's can have cataracts sometimes. I would call tomorrow to an opthomalogist and have her seen immediately. We used Simpson Eye clinic and they are awesome. They have a ped. opth. there too- Dr Turoc, but you may have to travel some to see him- he stays booked.

I would not let it go- it may be nothing, but it could be something really serious too, so definitely get it checked ASAP!

If she is three weeks old, she should get a well baby check up at one month of age (so next week). If your ped doesn't do the check up call the office and ask to be seen, since you have found something of concern.
It's probably nothing, but really, there is nothing wrong about getting it checked out. Most pediatricians would prefer that you see them over something insignificant, rather than letting something serious go untreated.
Good luck.

I have a similar thing in my eye. The eye doc said that it's a calcium deposit.

Yes...get checked asap. I am sure it is nothing but you should follow-up anyway. There is nothing wrong with going to the doctor in between visits if it is an issue of concern.....You are being a good mama!
