I am looking for suggestions for where my husband and I should get away to for our 10 yrs wedding anniversary. We went to Mexico for our 5 yr so are looking to try something new. Looking to get away for 4 to 5 nights without the kiddies most likely in October or November. Please send any suggestions of places to go or specific places to stay at. Can be in or out of the US.

To me most romantic -- Venice Italy.
But Hawaii would be really nice.
A couples cruise where you are waited on hand and foot.
Any place could be romantic because it's just the two of you.
I LOVED Mykonos!!! Paris is also very romantic.
If you like a beach vacation, St. Lucia is beautiful! We stayed at a Sandals and absolutely loved it - best vacation! All inclusive is great because you don't have to think about money for drinks, food, etc.

Depending on what kind of money you have, there are a number of places that I went to and would go back again:
- for our 10th - Gatlinburg, TN - it's great if you like shopping, hiking, ziplining and looking at nature. Lots of driving though, but it's about a 10 hr drive from Chicago. Best time to go early to mid October - we went again last Oct with family to see the leaves changing and it's amazing!
- Aruba is great too - 5 hr flight if you get direct or 7 hrs if there is a layover in St Lucia.
- Dominican Republic is fun - Punta Cana

My hubby and I celebrated our 10year in NYC and LOVED every minute of it! We can't wait to go back:) We stayed right in the heart of Times Square at the Marriot Marquis. We saw a few Broadway shows, a taping of David Letterman, ate at fabulous restaurants, took a tour through Central Park. I'd do that trip again in a nano second!
Funny - we were just talking about this. We are going to europe. Probably positano, Italy or Ireland or maybe Oktoberfest in Munich :)

Aruba. It's only about and hour and half from Miami. There are NO hurricanes that hit Aruba and the weather is always 85 and sunny. If you can only go for 4 or 5 nights this is perfect, although you will want to stay longer. Tons of all inclusive resorts. Apple has great package deals. Aruba can be on the expensive side (compared to Mexico) but you are going to get nice weather, so I think that makes up for the cost. Divi resorts have two hotels, in Aruba, on the Ocean. When you book a Divi resort, which is all inclusive, you get the full ammenities at BOTH hotels. From all of the bars and resturants to spas. All of your food and all of your drinks, including alcohol, are included. When you figure cost make sure you think about how much you would spend on food and drinks for your entire stay and the cost all of a sudden doesn't seem so bad. October and November can be iffy as far as weather goes here in the states. Hurricanes still occur in those months. Choose carefully or you may be stuck in your hotel, the entire time..... which may not be a bad thing either. :)
We are returning to where we honeymooned, New Orleans. In 3 weeks! I can't wait!
